Hi all,

I have recently been to an iron fitting and came out with the P790 being the best fit for me out of a range of irons tested (i200, AP3, cobra forged tec, JPX 900 forged etc). Bit to costly for me though so I didn’t buy.

However I have just picked up a second hand (virtually new) set at a great price. They match my fitted specs in terms of shaft and loft, but are standard lie and I was fitted for 2 upright.

Does anyone know if it is easy to change the lie angle on these? Can this be done by most local pros for example or is it a specialist job? I know these have a forged face, not don’t think the whole head is forged.

Thanks,
Chis

Might be worth using them for a couple of weeks before changing them.

My previous set of irons were 1.5 deg upright, and my current ones were purchased (like yours) in a regular lie on account of their bargain price. I had them adjusted for length, but have been using them for a few months now and have noticed no issues with the lie angle at all. That's both on the course and by looking at the green marks that you get from some range mats.

I figure that general play over an extended period is a more likely indicator of requirement than a single session on a range. There are plenty of tales of custom fit specifications not necessarily transferring to real life.
