Leaving A Club Out

That isn't that big a gap at that end of the bag.

One question would be why leave yourself that length, why not choose your teeing club to leave a better number.

It's not really about getting close from 200+, it's more mental.

If I leave an easy-ish chip from that distance I'm happy, but it messes with my head knowing I've not got enough club, or worse, too much.
Even at our lower hcp level, we can't ensure that clubs( especially woods) go bang to yardage each time. I think this is more about changing your mental approach than anything else.

Im the same. If I'm stood there with say a 210 yard shot but all I have is a 200 or 225 yard club then I'm buggered. I hate trying to hit an easy long iron and I don't like trying to hit a hard one either. I'm more than happy though hitting different distances with my wedges though.
i'd echo what I've said to region.

I think it is all about personal preference. There is never a right or wrong answer when it come to composition of a golf bag, I think you just need to go with what's comfortable. I'm not happy with big gaps in my long game, but I'm happy with manufacturing shots with my wedges. So I prefer to stack the long end up as I like knowing that I have a shot with my irons, before going to my 3w, all the way to 230 yards without having to manafacture something.
