I'm all booked up to be custom fitted for a set of irons on Wednesday and am going to have it done using a vector launch monitor among the usual things. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of these, and if so how good are they/what do they show?

Also, may seem silly but do you think I will need to take my current clubs with me?

You'll need to take your clubs. Most custom fitting places get you to hit a few with your normal clubs so they can get a base set of readings and map where the ball is going (fade, hook etc)

Never used a vector monitor. I have used swing monitors in the past which show how far the ball flew, rolled and the direction. Maybe the vector is similar

I'd say take an iron or two (if not the set). The monitor will read your clubhead speed, path and face angle. They are very good! Using these figures, the computer will work out the direction/trajectory (launch) and distance (mathematical) of the shot. If you have a regular problem with your existing irons, the machine will spot it.
