Evening all
I'm looking to book a trip to las Vegas back end of sept for 7 nights

Can anyone recommend where to book for the best deals?

Virgin do some good deals for flights+hotel. Some friends of mine went for 7 days inc. direct flights for less than £700 this year. I was there for 2 nights with work, and 2 nights was enough for me.

I went to Las Vegas in November 2009.

The hotels are the cheapest part of the holiday, it's the flight that will cost you the most.

I stayed at the Bellagio for 5 nights and flew with American Airlines, it cost £550. The flight was in-direct, we travelled from Gatwick to Charlotte, had a 1.5 hours stop over and then flew to Las Vegas.

I would say you should pay the extra and fly direct!

Websites to look for the best deals would be:

Expedia.co.uk
Virgin Atlantic

It sometimes is cheaper to book your Hotel & Flights individually.

Don't fly Virgin, I was most disappointed with them. I've heard much better things about BA.

The Bellagio is ok, but the rooms in the Cosmo, the Aria and the Vdara are more modern and bigger.

If you can be bothered with the hassle, book one of the top hotels for Mon-Thurs and then 'downgrade' Fri-Sun as the room rates really jump - although you shoudl still be able to get a deal direct with the hotels as occupancy rates in LV are down.

Any money save can easily be splurged on golf fees, the tables....and the girls who dance on them

V.jealous - my wee bro lived there 98-'04... surfed his couch for my summer hols each year.

Popped into LV enroute to San Fran as part of my honeymoon ( strangely it wasnt quite the same - haha !!)

Would recommend hiring a car and getting out and about . Hoover dam, grand canyon, and national parks. I agree with Axel , 2 nights in Vegas is enough . There are loads of places to go if you do a bit of research , driving is so easy over there compared to our rat race , fuel is cheap , they pay for a gallon about the same as we pay for a litre.

Just back from Vegas last week. We flew with American Airlines via Chicago. Just under £500 for flights. Booked through Orbitz.com.
Played Primm Valley Golf clubs 2 courses twice, just over border into California. Revere at Anthem twice, Rio Secco and Desert Pines. All great courses.
We stayed in the Palms cos we found a good deal, but the organiser said that normally the Luxor or Excalibur are the best for value/location etc.

just back 2 weeks ago , 2 nights is not nearly enough in vegas!!! we stayed a week in the aria, hotel was awesome, but table minimums were a bit steep for me as im not a gambkler, they were $15, vdara doesn thave a casino. we flew from edinburgh to new york to vegas, booked through thomas cook and it cost us £900
