Costa Blanca golf

Can’t sleep. Just read through this thread and noticed a couple of things I must have missed before.

We fly home from Alicante at midnight. We will almost certainly pass Font Del Llop on the way to the airport.

This has potential to be our last round before we fly home. We can even make the twilight fee at 3pm and still have time for beers after.

The stars are aligned.

Someone sell Font Del Llop to me 🤣

Where are you staying on your last night?

Font Del Llop is a great course - some rate it right up there behind the likes of La Finca, Las Colinas etc. We played it loads of times in the society as they offered good rates.

If you just want somewhere for a knock on your last day, I'd even consider El Plantio - it's not to the standard of some of the other courses and has more of a 'members club' feeling about it (they do great things with junior golf there) but there are some interesting holes on the way round and the layout is good. Little par 3 course there as well as a big driving range so if you have some time to kill you can make use of those. It's literally about 5 minutes from the Airport as well do you could even just grab a taxi if you didn't have a transfer booked.

Really? My mates and I all think it’s a great course!

The holes at the far end are a bit tight, with water on one side of the fairway and housing/oob on the other (certainly makes a challenge). But the holes in the middle of the course through the rocky desert terrain are really entertaining. Great mix of long and short holes, reachable par 4’s and par 5’s, lots of tactical choices. Always been in superb condition when I’ve played it, which makes a big difference.
We played it beginning of march 2022,played 2 la manga courses & Roda,El Valle wasnt on par with the others imo.
Maybe we just cought it at a bad time.

We are staying in an apartment near the stray sod. He’s given the green light for a 8pm checkout on our last day.

I’ve just put the idea to the lads but they would rather see nearer the time. Only issue with that is the tee slots will get filled. 4 rounds in 4 days might burn the lads out especially as it’s looking likely we will head to Benidorm on our last full night.

Still an option, especially those other courses you have mentioned nearby to Alicante 👍

Alicante golf club also worth a look. Again, not up to the standard of some, but great fun and you can play “which house would I buy if I won the lottery” on pretty much every hole - you even get to play over some roman ruins. Seve designed, and it will be decent value.
