Seems he entered the Van der Velde school this evening. Came to the last needing a double bogey 7 to win. Had 75 yards in with his 3rd and dumped it in the water short, then hit his next to the back of the green and proceeded to 3 jab it for an 8 and to take it to a play off with Snedeker which he duly lost. Snedeker traded at 1000 on Betfair for the win lol.

It was just as well Kyle had stuck £5,000.00 on Snedeker's nose then

He hit the green past the pin, it then spun back into the water.

It was horrible to watch that, the guys head was gone coming down the stretch. Crazy thing was he struck his 3rd into 18th too well, the ball was loaded with the spin and dug into the bank about 10 ft beyond the pin. Snedeker was always favourite - infact Stanley did brilliantly to get down in 2 from the back of 18th in the playoff. Shame.

Watched the Sky Sports News and they put it down to Stanley being the Unluckiest Golfer, I put it down to having no bottle and the ability to deal with the pressure!

That 3 stab was appauling, the comms were saying "He does not want to leave this short." and Stanley goes and leaves it about 4 foot short! Heart breaking for him as he did play some superb golf over the weekend!

I don't think you can say he bottled it. That seems all too common a reaction these days when someone loses a big lead. He holed some great putts in the last 6 or so holes to keep his lead and just didn't make the right choices imo on the last.

As for the first putt, we can only imagine how tricky it is down that ridge and bearing in mind the speed that the first one spun past the hole and ended up in the water, I don't think I'd have been too brave with the pace of it either.

Golfing Gods conspired against him. He was VERY unlucky with his approach to the last in regulation play. It actually stopped twice on the banking before it ended up in the water.

Also when Sneds won he got a jammy break. If his over hit shot hadn't hit the TV tower it was in a hazard.

The thing about it was he was that far down with his drive he should have went for the green in 2, he must have hit a short shot lay up shot to leave him where he did.
He hit the wrong 3rd shot he hit it in low with the spin he generates it was always going to bite then spin back, poor course managment if you ask me,from both player and caddy who seaming is a very good player as well.

That post right there is nonsensical from start to finish.

Still can't believe he didn't win.

I switched it off after he horsed his drive down 18 thinking he had it in the bag!

Plus for me is that I got Sky Sports back for 1/2 price so was able to watch some golf this weekend :)

Hadn;t watched it all night thinking it was a forgone conclusion. Switched on to see him dump it in the aqua. I think he played the wrong shot in trying to lay up and leaving himself so close where spin was always going to be a factor. You have to ask what influence did the caddy have in the decision. Surely he and Stanley must have recognised that the best option was going for it. Even if he'd flown it over the green into the stand there would have been a dropping zone. It looked like he over-thought the first putt too. They were saying how quickly he'd putted all round and then he studied the downhiller from all angles. I think by the time he stood over the putt to win his brain was mush. A shame as he'd played great for 71 holes but you have to close it out. Not quite a VdV moment as he really lost the plot completely but a close contender

He'd have been better trying to stick his third shot left of the green in the rough, no spin back in there.

He payed well and he'll challenge again hopefully
