Ventured here last week was a really good day out but what a wrecking crew the gibbons are!

Went through the enclosure for a second time just before closing and there was a trail of broken lights and windscreen wiper blades from start to finish.

Did you have your Man Utd shirt on? :p

I went for the first time last year. It was just "OK" in my opinion. Wouldn't be in any hurry to go back.

And I certainly wouldn't drive through the gibbon enclosure!

It’s good for the kids. We had season tickets a couple of years back as it worked out really cheap. Loads to do as well as the park such as Sealion show, fair, play area.

If you like a safari park then I would recommend Blair Drummond up near Stirling. Really good day out. Clearly not in the same part of the world as Knowsley so not a direct alternative.

Best generally is Chester Zoo. Chester knocks everywhere else for six.

A while since I've been to Chester (bit of a commute) but agree it was always very good
Favourite is the Highland Wildlife Park, no where near as big as others but can easily spend same amount of time there (& brilliant when there's snow on the ground)

Are any 'captured' these days
Surely they're bred in captivity
I play at Grange Park and you can hear the lions and Elephants being fed but to my knowledge there aren’t any wild ones in StHelens.
Possibly a wrong description “in captivity” most animals today are bred in captivity.
Nothing against it just not my thing.
