Well after a 0.6 cut the weekend iv reached a new low of 14.....Just 2 shots away now from Cat 2....:whoo:

If i can get a good round in again this weekend i may make a decent dent in the handicap again as its a stableford open weekend with re entry allowed.

Not going to push too hard for it and just play relaxed....Same as last weekend.

That is the secret, try not to think about your score. Just play every hole in the fewest possible number of shots then add up your score when you finish. It is so easy to start getting ahead of yourself and start thinking 'If I can do this or that I'll finish with xx score' That's when it goes horribly pear shaped.

Good luck

Thats what my Playing partner "Mate" off one keeps reminding me D4S......
Take it one shot at a time and stay in the present......It really worked a treat the weekend....I was a devil for counting shots and where i stood against par through the round....Last weekend i went with a game plan of what clubs to hit off the tee's to stay clear of trouble and to lay up on the Par 5's......

I parred 8 holes 3 of them were Par 5's after laying up to wedge distance...I messed up one alright where i creamed a 7 iron into high grass instead of taking a 9 iron....My putting is strong..Im pretty confident in 2 putting the majority of greens.

Me too. Off 13 but been playing to single figures over the last few months. The problem I have is I have only managed to play one comp this summer (and that was abandoned due to rain!).

Have a few comming up though so need to make sure I play to my potential.

Nice one Dave....very rewarding isnt it?

Yes mate but also frustrating that I am playing about 3 times a week but everything has conspired to stop me playing in comps and putting cards in.

Nice to have an achievable goal to work towards though. I've been as low as 11 but single figures is the goal.

Like us all Dave......Im trying to get to low single figures and maintain it without lessons.....Im going in the right direction for now..

Good work, mate. I wish you all the best with it.

I'd got down to 12.8, but then had gone steadily up to 13.3. 1 under in the stableford Sunday saw me get cut 0.3, so back to 13.

Need to get to 12.4 by mid September to play in the Club Championship. Here's hoping.
