I was disgusted with Keane for the way he dropped Spurs like a toy he no longer wanted to play with. Levy, as much as I think he is the source of the cancer in THFC, had to do the right thing and sting LFC for as much as possible, which he did.

If you have been to the Lane and watched the many games Keane has played in and you know your football, your levels of frustration with him will always be higher than the level of joy. It is an odd scenario, that he scores a decent amount of goals, but still drives you crazy with his poor runs, his inability to score 1-on-1, the way he runs behind a central defenders when a long ball is played up to him and the way he waves his arms around.

I will be there on Sunday, as usual, if he scores against the scum, of course I will cheer. But I go there with a certain sadness at what the club has done.

He is the best pointy shouty player in the world though!

Where do you drink before home games, use the pin myself.

Hasn't Rednapp made him Captain?
I bet Ledley King is really made up with that

It just gets worse, If anyone other than ledders should have got the armband it would be dawson in my eyes.

I welcome Keane back but giving him the armband is a joke. Woodgate should get it on a permanent basis. Ledley is finished, sadly. Although he remains club captain.

Don't Give it to Woodgate! Apart from the fact he is as injury prone as anyone he is not captain material!

I would say of all the current players Michael Dawson is the best bet. I have always rated him highly and his recent form has been superb.

how do people know this about Keane being made captain as well? It is not confirmed on the club website so is it just speculation...?

Woodgate has been ok on the injury front since he's been with us. He is certainly better captain material than Keane.

ol' saggy chops confirms Keane will be his captain at the end of this piece.

Oh Great! I was hoping it would be speculation thinking I would see a headline on the website saying 'Keane made Captain' or whatever, I had read most of that article but didn't finish it!

I think this is a terrible decision and agree Woodgate, although not the best, would be a better choice than Keane. It really gets me how Keane must be laughing having walked straight back into the squad in the same privileged position as captain that he was in before traitorously departing.

Its a dead cert that Keane insisted on it. He should have thanked us for allowing him to come back, not dictated terms.

The problem is outside of Ledders, there are no other suitable Captains. Dawson and Woodgate, whilst being strong are just not forceful enough to the other players and are both to prone to stupid mistakes. They are not leaders.

I dont often have a drink before the game as I take my son who is 14. We have had ST's since he was 7, so I am looking forward to him being of age, taking him to the pub and them he can drive me home !!

If I do meet my Bro or Dad, we go next door to you in the Bell and Hare.

Many years ago I used to drink in the Pin. That was the days when the landlord was on the door and if he knew your face he let you in !! Good times.

We have been known to nip into the bell if we are up there early enough, went in there before the pompey game and had a good ol sing-song outside.

Still cant beat the corner-pin though for me, its a tradition I suppose.

Im a massive red and although I dont think Rafa gave him a fair crack of the whip he hardly covered himself in glory in a red shirt.
2 things that worry me here are we are trying to push for our 1st title in 19 years, champions league again and we are now relying on David Ngog as cover for Torres and Gerrard, NOT GOOD

2nd thing is Liverpools last game of the season is against, yes you guessed it SPURS.
I can see it now in my worst nightmares as Keane runs off celebrating a winning goal to hand the title to the mancs

LOL! Youre a prawn sandwich man then ;)

Im park lane and always have been, love the atmos, cant stand the paxton when Ive been there.

Good on ya mate, keep the noise up !!

As for the Prawn Sandwich, that's the lot the other side in the west stand. Sat there the other week, thought I was at a funeral. I'm just along from The Shelf, so there is enough noise and banter. No prawn sandwiches, just Chicken Balti Pies that have me in the loo all night !!!
