Kaymer not using R11

Why does he need to use the latest offering. Surely TM get all the publicity they need from him being a contract player and world number 1

Because the 'all the gear and no idea' type spends a large amount of money to have the latest thing every year and buys what the top pros use. If the club is not on being used by the top pros then they may be less tempted to part with their money.

On the other side of the coin, how would you view, lets say, the advertising cover on the latest GM. You have a picture of Kaymer with a club that he clearly does not use with a tag line that says 'Europe's no. 1 player plays the new Taylormade R11 driver' and 'Ryder Cup winner gains and extra 21 yards using 3D tuning'. First thought would be what a load of cobblers.

These things can work both ways.

A guy at our club bought the r11 driver and fairway, both covered in sky marks!! I would be crying having spend the best part of £500 only to crust the top with marks.

Not up to hitting them on the face or did they come with that finish...........I think the R11 is crap.
