Jumbo putter grips.... anyone?

Hi guys, recently had some very average putting displays, gone from averaging 30-32 putts to 36-38 and it is the 3-5ft ones that are killing me. So I have decided that a jumbo grip is the way forward and have invested in a nice chunky odyssey grip Looking forward to trying it out but no idea how much of a benefit it will actually bring me.... if any!

Anyone using or have used a jumbo grip? thoughts???!?!?!

I had a bash with a Fatso, fitted to an Odyssey at the range. Definately not for me I'm afriad.

I have an Iomic Misdize with 4 wraps on my putter. Working well(.....ish) so far.

I tried one too and had similar problems. Just couldnt judge anything further than 10ft with it. I think people who are missing a lot from 10ft in will benefit from them though.

Currently working for me, I cut my putter down 1.5" and put a fatty on and I'm not as wristy now and put some decent puts away.

Didn't have much feel at first and was lagging but soon got used to it.

Fitted a Super Stroke Fatso the other day to my TM putter as it was in need of a new grip.

I had never used one before but after reading the bumf on the internet and seeing the videos I decided to take the plunge. And to be honest... its amazing. Putting for me has improved. I am no longer gripping the putter tightly and I am rocking my shoulders instead of breaking my wrists.

As for long puts I put 3 puts yesterday within 2-3 inches for 15 foot away. This allowed me to 2 put most holes and stop the short (baby) puts that I was doing before.

My hands also sit a lot more comfortably on the putter thus putting me at ease

I can switch between them and a midsize size grip no issue, they are a lot thicker than the midsize and do feel very different. If you power you're stroke with the shoulders, distance control shouldn't be too much of an issue.

One potential bonus for players using them is they can act as a counterweight (google wishon and putter counterweight for some info) to help take the hands out of the stroke. This obviously negates any reweighting of the putter to restore swingweight.

However, if you wish to restore swingweight you can do this by adding weight to the head end.

Some lightweight oversize grips are available, but probably heavier than a normal grip.

i have just gone with a two thumbs "the daddy" its awesome, played sunday with 28 putts (one of those was a 3 stab for eagle, too par) but apart from that it really has "quietened" down my wrist movement. i still grip normally, none of this two thumbs next to each other, use a hybrid baseball/varndon grip and its working really well for me right now! gone are the dark thoughts of a new putter!

I am not a fan of big grips. My 3-5 footers are iffy at the moment but I'm trying to work on my stroke and groove it. Don't think it is a grip issue. If it works for you then go for it

I'm considering putting a SuperStroke Slim 2.0 on the Nome, as I tense up over the 4 footers and know I grip it too tight, maybe a fatter grip will relieve some of that tension.

I've recently had a 2 Thumb grip fitted and upto now It's been great. I prefer a thicker grip but I've got it fitted on the side because I didn't want to change my grip.

Got a super stroke slim 55 on mine, I find it keeps my wrists still when I putt, it's definitely helped, getting way more 1 and 2 putts than before

If you're gripping it too tight on the nome, which has an oversize grip anyway, I'd focus on relaxing your grip pressure. The grip on the Nome is really nice.
