Joining Club please advise

Good read this thread, as I've just joined a club on my own also.
It seems a friendly place though and there is a new members evening next month,so hopefully I'll meet potential playing partners there.
Biggest problem will be getting my handicap asap so that I can enter comps.

Where have you joined Greg?

I think it's one of the best courses in Lancs.
Chuffed to have got in.

Greg, i live near to preston but been looking more the other way.

When u say "chuffed i got in", what was the process? Played there a few times and really like it, an option for me maybe....

Ref the OP:
Just get yourself involved as much as you can down the club. Comps and down the range or on the putting green for practise as your face gets recognised.

Just choose your club wisely and make sure they offer what you need. ie. regular comps, practise areas etc etc etc.

I'm pleased as I really like the course,so I don't think I'll get bored of playing it.
I just popped in to see if there was membership available,filled in a form there and then and came back in the evening for an informal interview.
Whereupon I was told I was the last member to get in for the time being - as long as no-one objected!!

That may have changed since so it may be worth giving the office a call.
