yesterday our club hosted this event with 50 pro's taking part.

The course presented a difficult challenge with only 7 out of the 50 pro's managing to break par....the winner shot 3 under, 2nd place was 2 under with 5 on 1 under........

there were 18 players at 6 over or worse with the highest score coming in at 14 over! :o

Now bear in mind that this is the same course I played the day before off the same tees, set up pretty much the same in the howling wind and rain and managed to shoot 1 under gross on the back 9 and won the medal by 13 shots.......The pro's had a very nice warm and sunny day yesterday with not much wind.......just saying.....

Scores are below....anybody's pro play in this?...I know Fundy's played....he finished on 7 over tied 38th.

Early in the year could be a reason. The scoring is normally better than that.
Not when you see the scores from the Summer event held here in August last year ...

apart from the winner who shot 6 under both rounds, the nearest was 3 under, with only 10 pro's out of over 90 breaking par after 2 rounds......there were a couple of 18 over rounds and aside from the N/R's the highest score finished on 26 over after 2 rounds......58 players finished at 6 over or worse....

the greens those 2 days though were very, very fast......stimping at over 12....

I think a lot of credit has to go to Ken Brown who designed a course with greens with some very subtle borrows which catch a lot of people out......it's certainly not the length that protects it at only 6,368 yds.
