Played the verulam yesterday.. turned up for a society event, asked how temp greens currently (played there in October it was 7!) was told only 1 on the 13th
so we tee off.. second hole green very poor condition.. (was a theme for the day if the greens were part of the lot that were temp last time out they were awful) blasically turf rolled out still and sand in between the rolls. Was like putting in a bunker.
anyways we hit the 3rd, push my tee shot slightly right check my gps, 140 left with a tree to go over.. hit a lovely iron straight into the heart of the green. Feeling great. Get up there to find a greens keeper has decided to do some work on the green and stick the flag in the temp green at the front.. so rather than a 15 foot birdie chance I'm faced with a drop off the green and a 20 yard shot back to the green! (Should have lasered it)
to add insult to injury when we came back past the hole we see it back to normal.
