It's a funny old game.................

Had my cousin up from Hertford this weekend for our twice yearly golfing extravaganza. Have been playing well in the last couple of months, so I offered to play off 20 just to see how things turned out.

We played 18 holes at Castle Park near Gifford on Friday and I shot a gross 86 and 41 points. Had two more strokes 'cut' off my handicap before playing Gifford yesterday and shot a gross 85 and 38 points!!

Played Pumpherston today (now unofficially off only 16!) and shot 101 and only 24 points!!!

Roll on two weeks time and the May Monthly Medal. Just hope I can play as I did on Friday and Saturday and not like I did today!!

How's Castle Park looking these days? Not played it for 7 years or so but always enjoyed it round there (if not the walk/ramble!)

I've been playing to 17 / 18 for past 4 weeks.

Played in my very 1st comp today off my official handicap (25 )

Went round in 2 over net, gutted. Especially as the winner was only 4 under net.

Hadn't played Castle Park myself for a while and, apart from a little sand on the greens, it was in excellent condition.
