we're quite hilly, so i was thinking of taking teh skis up there, but there's a specific sign preventing this year . Shame, as i know where the greens are and could have a quite good ski in the rough on our slopes

So if the golf course is closed due to the amount of snow we're due to get, is it okay to go sledging on it?

The course has some great hills on it, some of the best in the area for such activities.

Just wondered what peoples thoughts were.

I could easily see myself sledging down the 17th, but as usual, I reckon I'd end up in the pond and scoring "5"

i think the issue is that while i know where the greens and tees are and can control where i go on skis, the local hoodies on their cheap sledges dont. As was proved a couple of years back, so i suppose it's sensible

Locals tobogan onto the 16th green every year. Totally knacks it, and costs a fortune to fix. They don't give a stuff. There is no sign saying you can't so it's ok apparently. Oddly, there are plenty of no tresspassing signs, but they don't count. No signs saying I can't set them on fire either, so I guess in their minds thats ok too.

Quite a few red and black runs available on my course which is extremely hilly and north-facing. Had a wander up there with the wife yesterday only to finding it swarming with hundreds of little sh*ts from the local council estate so when it finally thaws I will probably be playing on a ploughed field.

Sorry if I sound a bit Bah Humbug with my previous post but given the amount of vandalism on the course this year I object to them enjoying themselves. I spoke to the greenkeepers a couple of weeks ago and they told me they had nearly 100 flags stolen from the greens this year (probably to mark out a slalom course), tee markers and signs have been removed or broken from most of the holes and six of the greens had been systematically dug up in the summer, so I think that is more than enough fun for anyone.

Two were arrested by the police following vandalism to the greens. Named, located and shamed in the local newspaper. Also two of my work colleagues live on the estate and know exactly where the trouble comes from.
