I can imagine where this thread may go, but anyway...

Noticed a couple of knocks on my irons so decided to get some covers, was going to go for these black big numbers will do the job.

But searching around I have found these they don't have numbers on but do have clear windows to see the iron number.

Any opinions?

I really really hate iron covers

But because I carry and my babies are so soft I have had to buy them I have gone for the clear windows with Mizuno on them

I use the long necked zipped variety (with numbers) but only for travel. They come off for the round and go back on before going back into the car. They do however stay on during the winter in the carry bag.

I find that having a decent trolley bag and trolley means there is little iron chatter-clatter.

Freddie, is the number on the iron clear enough through the window?

One of my playing partners as the covers and I admit I'm not keen on them and have laughed at him, but having just noticed a mark on one of my irons I'm converted!!!

I guess it would depend on the irons, but they are kind of one size fits all irons so fits some irons better than others. I have a bladed iron so they move a little but usually you can see enough of the number, I havn't had any problems so far.

I've just ordered the Castle bay ones, carrying damage them so much. I couldn't give a toss what people say or think, at the end of the day its my cash that's going down the pan with crap looking irons.

I got a set of Mizzy Blue ones from HK with the window - excellent. Had a cheap set of neoprene ones and they fell off before I'd put them on!

I love the sound of bag chatter. I did own some when I had TM Combo's but got shot of the irons and the covers too.

Toonarmy, be careful leaving them on in the winter of they ae stored in a shed or garage coz mine got very rusty due to the lack of ventilation.

Steady on Freddie - you'll be wearing shorts next   :D :D

Golfmmad.

I've got the neoprene ones with velcro fasteners. I've lost 2 but I only use them to stop the club clatter as I walk so got enough to do the job for now.

I actually might, I wore shorts on the range the other day and the world didn't seem to end.

I think I must be chilling out a bit :D

just went and got a set after reading all of the replies, always thought they were naff but will stop the clatter and maybe help my clubs in the long run :)
If I keep a set long enough :(
