Shouldn't have done it. :(

I can't afford it, I have better things to spend my money on. :( :(

But I had to. I had no control over it, guv'.

I swapped my 3w and 5w for a 4w and 3h. Only Benross, maybe, but I've had Benross kit before, and it's nothing if not forgiving.

And £80 changed hands as well.

I always get buyers remorse, even when I need new stuff. I always think the grass is greener.

So how come with these new puppies I've got no feelings of guilt or regret at all ?

I could have resisted if it wasn't for Walton Heath. Now I've got 10 weeks to learn how to use them.

All I need now is a driver

You've had a go with my Benny and didn't really get on with it. I have two other drivers stashed away somewhere, great clubs that you are more than willing to have a go with.
Both Callaway Steelhead Plus models, graphite shafted, one is 9 degress if memory serves me correctly, the other is about 12 degrees I think.
If you want to have a tonk with them you are more than welcome, they are not worth a lot now but are still regarded as one of the best drivers you could get your hands on.
You are more than welcome to put them in your bag for an indefinite period and try them out Clive. They are only sitting up in the loft gathering dust.
If you can't hit one of them mate, I'd give the game up
;) ;) ;)

CH I'm confused. Aren't you getting fitted for a driver at Walton Heath? If it was me I'd see how I got on at the fitting and would either play with the rapture or use the 3 Wood off the tee. T

Its only money - can't take it with you so live for the moment. You're going to get a shiny new Ping driver at WH anyway so get learning how to hit the 4W for those tight holes and enjoy the freebie big dog when you get it.

Oh, I must have forgotten about that ;)

<font color="orange"> ( Must remember not to rub it in too much )

The only problem, in reality is that I'm assuming that we don't get given the driver until after we play, and what with WH being a gazillion miles long, and all that, I'm going to need something to get round in the morning

If you'd stop trying to get sane people to wander all over the south downs with it's 6" deep in snow on a Sunday lunchtime, and play at a reasonable time ( say around 10.30 on a Tuesday or Wednesday, for example ), then I might be able to find time to give them a thump.

Bloody weekend golfers

About time you got rid of those tiny pinheaded woods of yours ;)

Didn't want to lose the 5w especially, but money talks, and the shafts on these newbies makes them much more forgiving for me.

A question.

He was talking about reshafting the DCIs with graphite for about £25 a pop, to make them more suitable for my increadible slow swingspeed.

Which would cost about £200.

I have 5 options :

1) Do the above, when I can afford it.
2) Buy a set of Benross GI irons and trade in the DCIs from this guy at some point in the future
3) Go to AG and get something like a set of WS Di7s or Ci7s while the sale is on.
4) Have a go with Smiffy's John Letters kit.
5) Don't even think about changing the irons, even though the shafts aren't ideal, coz by the time we go to WH I'll be hitting them straight enough, and the 6I will be going about 150yds, which'll have to do for the time being.

Or any other suggestions that anyone can come up with.
