"I'll just finish it off if that's OK..."

In my first GM meet at Hillside I reach over to tap in from 2 inches and only managed to graze the top of the ball.

Loved the Hamlet rhyme :)

Loved the Hamlet soliloquy. Just surprised you didn't managed to include the Bard's own bit about "... to suffer the swings and borrows of outrageous fortune...". Or didn't I learn it properly at school?

Read this post the other day and smiled as I've done this in the past , didn't think I would be daft to miss a two inch put ever again, lo and behold I missed a put from no more than 4 inches today went to put scuffed the ground and the ball hardly moved .

Not to me but a FC once missed a short putt for 2 pts on the 9th. Did the lean over one handed tap back putt and missed that too. Had a storming back 9 then found he lost out by one point and would have had the better back 9.

I think he's learned his lesson now

Turning it around slightly, you've just been let through so you feel under pressure to get a wiggle on, seen many mistakes from a hurried swing or putt.

Eh Imurg:)

Finish the bugger off, if someone has a foot left and marks it just annoys me.

I have seen people mark and miss these putts, I always think you will be waiting so long for your tap in you will over think it and miss, marking it also takes ages as the chances are you are on someones line so have to move your marker etc etc.

What about sticking your size tens all over someone elses line and having courtesy to your PP. I've seen (and done it myself) many people miss that footer while straddling a line to try and do exactly this. Not the end of the world in a roll up for £3 but definitely not what you need if you're trying to get a cut or win a decent sized comp at your club. Of course, if there's not an issue with someone elses line then I wholeheartedly agree 100%

Have to agree if there is really nowhere to stand then fair enough, but if not a problem my god just knock it in chances are if you have a stance the chances are you will be near someones line with you marker which will be in their line of sight or ball line.

As I said I agree. However I'd give my playing partners the benefit and will mark if I'm at all unsure about being on a line. If not bash it in, pick up the flag and then move onto the next hole
