I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Brutal wind at Fortrose yesterday, but played well again, greens had been cored which made putting difficult.
Almost had my second eagle, on the same hole again.
Driving the ball so well at the moment, long may it continue 😀

Played a 4BBB and was on the card 17 times......the other was my mate made birdie for 4 for 4, I only made a par.

Looking forward to see what that OZ HS system does to me.

Smashing 18 this morning. Frosty, so the greens were silly first off but it meant the we fairways were firm underfoot so that was a winner. Played nicely, putting let me down ☹. A solid 35 could easily have been 38-40 without much effort (well, only if I could actually putt straight 🙄)

One moment made me smile, this is for @Orikoru . Was a bit hit and miss with my ball striking and couldn't quite put my finger on it. I was going through the options in my head when I thought about his video. Next shot I concentrated on keeping my left arm straight above anything else. Boom, beautiful strike, out of the middle, lovely trajectory. The rest of the round continued in a similar vein with only the odd poor strike, always my own fault. Shame it took me 12 holes to realise 🙈

Two down with three to play, with two shots for me on the last two and nothing for my playing partner or our enemies

Birdied the 16th and got to one down, par, net birdie on the 17th to be all square and par, net birdie on the tough last for the win 🏆

A 4BBB matchplay today. I was giving 18 and 12 shots to our opponents. My partner was getting 4. Me and my partner were 5 under gross without a bogey on the card. We only got a half, and that was with a birdie birdie finish 😳

Cracking day at Manor House, weather was spot on, greens had been tined but otherwise course was in good nick, and to my surprise I had some sort of golf game! I was level after 8 but then doubled 9&10 and my short game let me down, then ticked through nicely to 16 where I flew the green and left myself dead, costing me a triple - ended up +8 which I’m happy with considering the level of changes I’m trying to make to my swing.

Nice round this morning. Friendly unfriendly 4BBB with the usual reprobates.
We’ve kept the teams the same for three matches now as this was the decider after being locked at 1-1.

Played ok, didn’t hole out on every hole so no idea of my score, it was busy and we wanted to keep things moving so picked up as early as possible. But PP was level through 10 but we were only 3 up. We lost 13, 15 and 18 to end AS. So we teed back up on the 1st as a play off. Oppos both missed green to the left, we both stuck ours to the middle of the green. PP knocks in the birdie putt for the W after they could only chip on but to 20 & 30ft respectively.

Nice day weather wise, course was nice and firm too. Greens quickening a bit now.

Second round of our Classic 4BBB, my partner improved from yesterday and he was on the card 4 times, we had 41 points but no where the winning score.

But the beer and then gin and tonics were great.

Decided to put a card in today as I knew my best score was coming off the bottom and wanted to get it out of the way.

Front nine, managed 18 points with no double bogeys - just nice and tidy, driver working quite well for once. Got my first double on the 11th but kept plugging away, a couple of pars meant I was on 33 with two holes to go - just two bogeys would have brought me to 36. But no, instead I double bogey both of them for a round of 83 and 34 points. How utterly infuriating. The 18th was an embarrassment - 3 wood off the tee left me 60 yards to the green, hit earth and left 30, then knifed it over the back like a total clown.

Oh well, feels good to play well and the sunshine was ridiculous, I was absolutely roasting in my baselayer (see irritations thread). At least I can see the results of the practice I'm putting in, playing so much better than last year already. It won't save me a big increase to handicap, but it may have lessened the damage slightly as this will be the replacement counting round now.

After a few weeks of being absolutely pony, today I came second in our March stableford! Missed one fairway all day, by about a yard. And without even realising, shot a 1-over back nine which is BY FAR my best ever - I think my previous best for that stretch is about 5 over. Chuffed to bits 😁

15 points out had me thinking, not again, but 22 on the back saw me to 37 and 1 behind the leader, who is the best golfer at the club.

Out this morning with the old man, another cracking round for me, had 3 birdie opportunities, but never took any, but at least I’m giving myself chances.
Driving and Hybrids superb 😀

Start of March and course has been deemed fit for qualifiers.

Stableford today and I was going well on 19 after 9 but two silly threat-putts on 12 and 13 after finding the middle of the green in reg, and a blob on 14 meant the potential wasn't realised, but 36 should give me a small cut. :)

Playing Harold Bird & Son 1, 3 & 5 woods
Dunlop Maxfli Australian Blades 3 to SW
Bronty Chipmaster Mk II (came in handy off the bare, muddy lies around the greens)
Early John Letters Golden Goose, ladies model.

March Stableford today, and I played all 18 holes for the first time in a good few months..
Horrendous front nine, respectable back nine. 28 points.

Went to TopGolf yesterday, because of that I took my putter out of my bag.

Got to the first green today and realised by putter was still at home, damn.

3 putted the first with my 4 hybrid, but then went par, par, par, par, birdie, birdie, lip out birdie putt, bogey for a 2 over front 9.

Used a combination of 5 wood, 4h, 5 and 9 iron for my putting, depending on distance, etc.

Finished with 32 points, which I was over the moon with considering. My ball striking was so good today too.

Not many people have a club choice for putting! 😂

Got to ask why you took your putter out to go to top golf though?

lol not fancy a quick dart to the pro shop for a loaner???

Missed the Saturday comp as I had family commitments so just nipped for 10 holes yesterday afternoon. 9 pars and a double.

Loving the G440 driver, 4 wood and 7 wood. Ping tour black shaft is as good, if not better than any fancy tour ad / velocore I’ve tried !
