I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

I am playing well but the lack of regular playing due to course closures and buggy bans is showing in my game. Struggling to make it all the way round due to lack of fitness.
Dropped shots on 15, 16 and 17 on Tuesday but finished with 34 points.

Still to play to play to handicap since returning to play in November after an injury lay off for a few weeks.

Our course finally opened on Monday and I played 13 holes, I was shattered when I came off, obviously lack of golf has affected my fitness, so I played Tuesday, Wednesday and today happily my stamina is much improved. Mtygolf is a bit erratic, I had a few pars and a couple of birdies today but also 2 blobs in the weekly stableford.
You do realize that you can exercise outside of golf? Walking, lifting weights, heavens forbid...running/biking/pub crawling......

The good news - fairways and greens have been cut on the front 9, and it now looks more like a golf course.

The bad news - back 9 still a bog and still open. The 17th in particular is just ridiculous - for the second game in a row, 2 balls hit down the middle were never seen again.

Should have stuck to my guns and just played 9 holes.

At 7am we were allowed trolleys....by 10.15 it was carry only
By noon I suspect the place was underwater....
Same again tomorrow
When will it stop bloody raining..😫

Played today and shot a 78 (8 under handicap). Drives straight down the middle, ball striking great and putting really well. Doubtless I'll be back to the usual rubbish when the season starts

We've still got our 15th and 16th closed, plus 17 as it's a simple walk from the 14th straight to the 18th tee. The 15th has been nigh on waterlogged and I've nearly lost several drives in the fairway where they have plugged. The 16th is similar and so glad they've had some common sense for now, especially as it's rained last night and most of today. We do have trollies but I fear they will succumb on Sunday as we're due to have a pairs board event (pairs combined stableford) and there is no way it'll have dried and seems unjust to have a major comp over 15 holes. Common sense says move the comp back and keep the holes closed

Just got in from a very cold and windy 9 holes with @Oddsocks and @Bratty at Farleigh

Shot a decent 38 despite hailstones and frostbite

Didn’t put a card in and it was arranged on WhatsApp

That is quite possibly the coldest I have ever been on a golf course, it’s a shame we didn’t tee off at 12.00 as it’s bloody lovely now.

Great company as always and remember, first rule of WhatsApp is not to discuss WhatsApp 😁

Anyone invited to a round with Oddsocks, please check and believe your own weather forecast, not his!!!! "It'll be okay."
First person tees off the 1st in drizzle, last person tees off in hailstones!!! Soaked for 7 holes, then sky dry but fairways not.
Gave up after nine, and hit 42, which was okay considering I couldn't putt for toffee. Greens were weirdly fast (and sandy!).
Thanks to @Oddsocks and @Dando for a cracking amount of fun.

Course closed and horrendous rain in the morning made us cancel plans to play elsewhere! Went to TopGolf again for the second day running and managed not to Hilary Swank anything this time. 👍🏻 Looking like no round of golf this weekend then. Will it ever stop raining or should we be building an ark?

He's definitely a guy I'd want to play with along with Orikoru. Think it would be a giggle from start to finish

Out for 9 this afternoon...turned into 12 instead.
Carry only and little chance of trolleys allowed until monday will keep Fragger at home tomorrow - the comeback of the year will have to wait for another day I fear.
Hit the ball ok, birdied the first which is always a bad omen then steady up to the turn.
There was nobody on 10 so that got bogeyed but pars at 11 and 16 to finish off..
Cold, windy and very soft underfoot....kinda typical winter golf, although it is much softer than normal.
3 of our par 3s have mats for the winter, quite a large one on 16...
It was wet and muddy as I found out when I flushed a 9 iron and got a face full....

Another day, another 9
Glorious day but the ground is still too soft for trolleys....hence carrying for 9 when there was a Medal on...
2 bogeys, 1 birdie, the rest pars, 36 shots, 21 points, +1 gross and a cut to boot.
Some good scoring the Medal so PCC may rear it's ugly head but we'll see...
Spring is in the air - until the frost tonight that is.......

Went out as a 5 ball this morning....things were quiet. Let one 2 ball through. Worst round I've had in months. I'd blame it on the new driver, but I'm having trouble finding a way to blame all the other crap swings on the driver as well:cry:.....

Played yesterday (the links course I'm a member of) and it was still wet underfoot in places, still huge ponds on some of the fairways and fairway protection is now in place for March to let the course get ready for the start of the season in April. I played well from tee to green (15 GIR) but putting was horrendous, couldn't make a thing and it wasn't the fault of the greens which were great for this time of year and the conditions we have seen. Ended up shooting +4 which sounds good but you have to take into account it's the winter course just now and only 5000 yards long. Lots of 30-60 yard pitches into par 4's, a few short par 3's and no par 5's.

Needless to say the parklands course was shut again like most in the area. Someone was saying in the clubhouse last week that they counted that the course had been closed for over 80 days since the start of the season in April.

You obviously need to buy a new putter, all the signs are there.

Fifteen holes open, carry only. Managed 35 points to win the pot but the back 5 really shouldn't be open. Got away with murder but money is money and won £75 but the round the winner has to by cost £52 so not a huge win but every little helps
