Out this morning, ball striking was excellent, had birdie putts on 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11, holes 11-15 are closed due to hole remodel on 15.
Don’t think I’ve ever given myself that many opportunities before.
Struggled with my putting after Fortrose on Friday.

Out with the Fragster this afternoon and..Wow..did the weatherman get it wrong...
Heavyish drizzle and mist verging on fog for the front 9..didn't out a card in as we wanted the option to walk off if it didn't improve..
But improve it did and the back 9 was actually quite pleasant with a hint of blue sky at times!!
We both blobbed the 1st..I'm blaming the weather as it was just :poop:
After that it was respectable play frommus both..he had a 2 point lead after 9 but then blasted one OB on the 12th
Came to the oast and I was 2 pountsnin front but he had 2.,yes 2..shots on the last....
Made my par 5nto his 7 to take the win....happy days...
Recovery game was on point today..got up and down several times....most pleasing.l
Little Bro, will you please read through your posts before posting , as posting gibberish makes people question your mental status.
We don’t want folk questioning your sanity do we 🤭🤭😬

Captain v Vice this morning, 4BBB. I was playing for the captain.

Shotgun start and we started on the 8th, I was -1 through 4, as a team we were 6 up after about 7 holes, I birdied the par 3 11th and 14th, was holing all my putts and must have made 6 or 7 one putts.

We ended up winning 3 up and the captain's team was victorious. Apart from 2 holes, I played phenomenal golf.

I made the mistake of opening my round today with a birdie-birdie start.

I pared the 5th and the 14th.

The rest needs just consigning to the annals (maybe it should be anal's....the golf was that bad) of history.

Fresh morning playing Dinsdale GC. We regularly play a stableford comp between 3 of us for a little 🏆.
Nice double on the 1st to start the round(y). Hooked a 7iron into Narnia and was never to be seen again. Bogey on the 2nd. Another Double on the 3rd after topped drive, I thought here we go... another stinker of a round.
Somehow managed to start playing some half decent golf. Par'd the 4th, Birdie on 5. Bogey'd the 6th (Well deserved, took on a greedy line over the trees and straight in them it went, had to punch out backwards...always find this painful having to hit further away from the hole😂).
Par'd 7.
Bogey'd the 8th after missing a 2foot tap in for par😫. Couldn't stop thinking about this.
Par'd 9,10, 11 & 12. Bogey on 13.
I then missed another 2foot tap in par on 14!!😡 was very close to losing my head after this one.
Par on 15. Back in the game...
I then 3 putted from 3 foot. Yes that's right... 3 putts inside of 3 feet on 16. Took a double bogey. Walked off the green sounding like Tyrell Hatton🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.
Par'd 17. Which meant the trophy was mine but I was still thinking about the missed putts.
On the 18th tee box... with a half decent scorecard. I then went 5 off the tee trying to drive the green and posted a fat 9 on the scorecard.

Had a good knock but all I can think about is the lack of concentration and messing around on 18 has cost me a pretty decent score (and some sleep).

Anyone else got the two foot yips?😂😂😂

A bloke who used to be part of my Saturday morning 3 ball used to have these, still does. He has moved away now but came back a couple of weeks ago and we met up again. We got a 4 ball together and played a 4BBB game. Early on he had a putt from 18" and he looked, pleadingly to see if I would give it him. I just looked, smiled, and he smiled back. 'Thought not' he grimaced, 'but I'll show you'. I didn't give him a single putt all the way round and it became a running joke. On the 16th he sank a putt from within 2ft and I pointed out that he had not missed a short putt from within 2ft all round. He just beamed, he had not realised. The determination to 'show me' made him concentrate over those short putts more than he did when he was playing solo in comps. It was great to see as his tee to green game would have him around the 12-13 mark. His putting has him currently at 17.

Before anyone grumbles, we were playing for fun and he acknowledges his poor putting from close in. No harm was done, no money was lost, all was well (is that enough of a disclaimer for the fun police?)

Been in the doldrums since coming back from holiday 10 days ago, but some encouraging signs this morning, a solid 34 points despite a couple of duffed drives and a couple of visits to the trees.

A few folk moaned about how cold it was when we teed off (5 degrees), had to remind them that this time last year the course was flooded, and a day like today would have been hailed as a really nice day for golf!

None 😂😂
Putting was terrible, just couldn’t get the ball to the hole.
Going to take the positives though 😀
One day…one day. And it will. Lottie of my place is playing college golf in the states, and this semester she’s scored very well - usually under par but not putting in the big under par scores she’ll need to be doing when she turns pro. Hitting high GIR - but not holing enough putts.

Then in last comp in final round she lipped out for a birdie on 18th for what would have been an 8 under - and that would have been a Florida State Uni all time low single round. Just that on that day her putter was hot, and she won the comp. It comes if you get your GIR number up - so I keep telling myself.👍😳

It wasn't our usual fourball today, we had two guests, both members whom we know, one we had played with before, the other not.

We play "on the perch", win a hole, and you go on the perch and are playing against the other 3, win another consecutive hole, and you go one up, if you are one up after 18 you win.

The lad we hadn't played with before was off 35, I was giving him 25 shots:ROFLMAO: 7 holes with 2 shots. He had a birdie, a few pars and numerous bogeys. Fortunately, the other lad who was receiving 11 shots played a blinder and saved the day.

Me? I was like the proverbial spare one at a wedding.

It was interesting.

First round today post lesson. Couldn't think of a worst day to try out the new technique on. 30mph cross winds or head winds in the main

Driver went drastically left to right on the majority of holes into wind or with a cross wind. I did manage one perfect into wind shot

Down wind or cross right the left another story. Good solid strikes much happier

Was happy with my strike in the main and a par on the last made me feel better about the day however I would prefer the wind to drop to more respectable levels next time

On a massive plus the new hybrids really go well

Sounds like he stepped up to the challenge. I can relate to the pleading look😂😂😂 the 'is that good?' face - aka please don't make me putt it. I think the thought of missing them and looking stupid is what gets me. I often over analyse the putt too and then I'm tentative, or I rush to get out the way of others putting, straddling over peoples lines and think it's in without concentrating at all.

Will be holing everything out for the forseeable!!

Joint won the back nine with 18 points so nine quid dropped in the back pocket. The green shoots of recovery still need a bit of water. 😀👍
