One of those frustrating days when the other guy gets all the luck...
33 points with 2 blobs caused by bad kicks including hitting a greenside sprinkler head from 180 yards and disappearing into the gloom....
5 lip outs and 3 putts that finished less than a cm from dropping....
However, CVG used all his luck by sinking 3 putts of 20+ feet that, had they not cannoned into the flagstick and dropped, would have gone 20+ feet past.....
Once is happenstance etc etc etc.......
Oh dear, how sad ……Pahahahaha 😬

Played at Sharpley Springs GC, first time in about 6-7 years, Course is really maturing, Greens were very good, sadly a couple of tee boxes and fairways let it down, very untidy and unkept, which stood out compared to the rest of the Course.
Only been open 15 years, but nice to see the change.
Played OK as well which always helps.

Real battling performance today. Couldn't get the driving going at all. Sure winter yardage means drop in distance but it's not that. Definitely hitting it poorly. Going for a lesson at the weekend as it only thing letting me down ATM

Irons were lovely , putting went well

New laser proved useful

31 points. Nothing special but glad to achieve it when I went out in 14 points

Green shoots of recovery. 36 points and if the putter had been bordering on warm. I would of been dragging brass.

Shot 4 over par (36 points) made a terrible double bogey with a 7 iron to the green.

Have made a small change in where I put the ball in my stance, and am happy with the overall result,
still a work in progress.

Out with CVG and Fragger today - he's worth the entrance fee all by himself :ROFLMAO:
Starting on 10...nice 3 pars to start ending the 9 3 over (19 points)
A slight wobble in the middle of our 2nd 9 but a scrambling finish left me with 36 points [+7l and a small cut.
No outlandishly long, fast putts from CVG today - used all his luck up on Monday..
Fragger despatched....

Seniors Comp today off the Yellows and for this I’m off single figures😂

Golf wasn’t too bad, but had a great laugh, one of my playing partners brought the pointy plastic bit off a spent firework to the course and asked another in our 4 Ball if he’d tried the new tees “everyone” was using? Bloke answered No and was then handed the “new” tee to try.

He used it for about 5 holes before proclaiming this was the best tee he’d ever used. 😬

Five holes with a couple of balls late afternoon. Just for the walk and a little bit of practice with nobody about. It went rather well, but that was rather besides the main point.

Today I played in the first round of a society winter matchplay competition at home to a guy I have played with a couple of times in the past, I played pretty well, had a couple of birdies although also had a couple of rubbish holes but played to my handicap, the guy I played against however was phenomenal. 9 handicapper so giving me 5 shots, after a bogey on the first, he parred the next 13 then finished birdie, par, birdie, par. He didn't have that many GIRs but his chipping was spot on. One of the best rounds I have witnessed.

Solo round today but three separate tourists were added to my tee time so I had to be course guide and marshal for them

All nice people, fun afternoon with folks of mixed abilities from three continents

Was hoping to get 18 in but some roll up that started an hour before slowed the course down. Apparently they have a reputation for it, yet the club still allows them out most are retired and looking at them not that spry ..
Managed 9 holes shot 3 over, 1 3 putt , 1 plugged bunker shot and then a 440yard par 4 up hill .. no chance.com!

Driver was good, last hole was a bit off but I had been standing on tee for 5-8minutes waiting.
Happy to have had my hit though!

After a couple of poorer rounds in the last couple of weeks (79,82) I played well yesterday except for a single minute of the round. I made the mistake of saying after my tee shot on 13 that “I’ve taken the right hand side of the course out of play today, every single drive is left of where I am aiming.” As you would expect on 14 I blocked a drive right and OOB. Got the provisional out and sent that even further right. Ended up with an adjusted 76 for 36 points when the tied second place in the comp was 38. Winner had 40.

Still, it was a 3.0 differential which has given me another cut to 2.6. Got a 2.9 dropping off next round with my 9th best being a 4.7 so will only get a slight raise if I play poorly.

Played in our Open this weekend, shot 3 over par yesterday, (37 points) and today I started on the 10th a short par 3, I said to myself do not miss left.....and yes I stuck in the bunker left, tried to be cute and did not get out, 2 over not happy.

Dug deep and finished 4 over for the round so quite pleased I did not spit the dummy.

Out with the Fragster this afternoon and..Wow..did the weatherman get it wrong...
Heavyish drizzle and mist verging on fog for the front 9..didn't out a card in as we wanted the option to walk off if it didn't improve..
But improve it did and the back 9 was actually quite pleasant with a hint of blue sky at times!!
We both blobbed the 1st..I'm blaming the weather as it was just :poop:
After that it was respectable play frommus both..he had a 2 point lead after 9 but then blasted one OB on the 12th
Came to the oast and I was 2 pountsnin front but he had 2.,yes 2..shots on the last....
Made my par 5nto his 7 to take the win....happy days...
Recovery game was on point today..got up and down several times....most pleasing.

On the red last night and could have done with the time in bed but my mate really wanted to play…

7:30am and no sign of him. Annoying.

Positives are more people met at the club and I have been invited into another whatsapp group (we don’t have tee times so it really helps)

Score wise: 33 points, 2 blobs and 5 1 pointers means I am happy as some of it was really good. Been putting in a lot of practice lately and pleased that its paying off.

I really need to not follow up a bad shot with another bad shot. Think I can easily have a rush of blood and compound an errot, need to try and stop myself and plot how I can make a bogey from that position etc.

Winter league today. 4 Ball match play, our opponents were really nice guys, probably in their 30's, one off eight and the other off one. I'm 18 so got 17 shots and my partner and we played really well after a bad first hole, and won 3 and 2 - the 1 handicapper said that everyone raises their game when they play them, and we certainly did, best I've played in ages 😀
