Enjoyed playing Blackmoor yesterday on a courtesy (ALWAYS good that 😊). Played OK but scored rubbish. Greens splendid given the disaster they suffered not too long ago. Indeed one of my mates really enjoyed them with three birdies including birdies on 17 and 18… 👍

Good to hear you enjoyed your day Hugh. Greens are lovely and better than they were before the 'disaster' They have stronger grass which will hold up even better during the winter. Just six more bunkers to renovate this winter and then major course work should be complete.

I played rubbish yesterday, and about my only two good shots were on the 16th when I saw your fourball.:)

try and up your game for Friday, you don't want to fall too far behind the reigning champions!!

Singles matchplay against a good player who's off 8.6 now, but recently came 2nd in the Club Champs (gross). I received 6 shots but the way I've been playing it was only going to end one way, and there were no surprises here. Got dusted aside 6&5. I did play crap as usual, but in fairness he was only 2 over par after the 13 holes so even playing well I'd have struggled. I was already 2 down after 2, the only real chance I should have taken was my first shot hole, the 4th, when I was just through the green in two but pulled off my trademark rubbish chip and three-putt to double it for a half. Didn't really have any chances after that. Didn't even win one hole. Fair play to him, hope he goes onto win so at least I have that to fall back on.

Head is still spinning after this morning’s round.

Terrible drive on the first, double bogey. Not the best of starts. Then went on fire, 7 pars and a bogey, out in 38 for 25 points off the whites.

Fell apart spectacularly on the back 9. 3 putted 5 times, 2 terrible drives (found both but they ruined the hole) and 2 lost balls meant a grand total of 7 points on the back 9.

Talk about a game of two halves!

It's Captain's Weekend.....we can play either today or tomorrow.
Format is Greensomes and I'm playing with Fragger tomorrow morning...
We get 16 shots and were going to need every single one as, at the moment with 12 more scores to come in today, 40 points doesn't even get you a top 10.. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
45 points leading...
Good job there's a BBQ after....

Edit..anything less than 44 points isn't worth having......😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Pro's day today. Tee's right at the very back of tee area. Nasty pins on every green. Balls bouncing though greens. 21 points and I thought I'd played well.

Been a good week. A 2 under 68 to win div 1, won a scratch team match, won a pairs knockout and my singles knockout then a 73 today. I thought golf was all disappointment 😂
Now you've been and gone and done it.......the Golfing Gods have a serving of Misery for you.. ;)

Fun day today. Felt quite comfortable on the front 9 but some sloppy play on 8 and 9 left me on 15 points. Disappointing.

The back 9 needed some scrambling play at times but a solid short game and decent putting brought in a very respectable 19 points. Our back 9 is harder than the front imo so I was very happy with that.

The only blot, I'm developing a mental block on the approach shot to our 18th Green. It's looking narrower and narrower to get through, trees and bushes left, likely lost, big trees right, blocking you out. Second week running I've choked it 😠.

Special mention to our very own @rudebhoy for his front 9, see his post above. He was like a machine, putted like Speith in his prime. 25 points for 9 holes for heavens sake 😳. Ah, forget the rest of the round, just hold on to the thought of that golden streak 🏆

Played at West Malling Spitfire course this week. Wasn't a huge fan, as the holes are too squashed in and the par 3s are mostly just pitch and putt. Scored 83 though, so playing to my handicap that I haven't had for 9 years. Not too bad.

After playing rubbish at Blackmoor on Friday I approached my last 16 club singles ko match yesterday with some trepidation.

But in truth I knew golf better than to think I’d be as rubbish in my match as I was the day before. And sure enough, against a useful 15 hcapper and so giving 6 shots I just played steady solid 9 handicap golf to win 3&2. Always my mantra when giving a bundle…just play steady low risk golf and be patient. Your opponent will mess up enough times to make the difference. And he did.

So that’s me in QFs of both the club‘s main singles hcap ko comp and also the over 55s hcap ko comp.

Shot a record low 82 after hitting just 2 fairways. Well to be fair it was 6, but four of those were the wrong ones 😎 and another was after my original tee shot went OOB 😂.

Unfortunately I was on my own, so can't use it for handicap purposes.
