A lot of rain overnight after a week of overnight rain so the course was fairly soggy. Lots of drop outs leaving me on my own and a fairly quiet course. Played the first 5, caught up with the 4 ball in front, crossed over and played the last 4. Great mix of holes, very happy. Drove well and worked on getting the ball a smidge back in my stance for my iron shots. I hit far too many irons off the bottom 2 grooves and changing that is this season's big task, well one of them........

In the clubhouse afterwards for a coffee, just me, one other man and the golf from India on the big TV. We got chatting and got onto the conversation about tee colours, being able to play comps off both whites and yellow. 'Do you know if this has been discussed here' I asked, 'do you have any involvement in the club' I added. 'I'm the chairman ' he politely replied 😳. A nice chat ensued anyway and now I know who our chairman is 😄

With that number of shots I ain't surprised.......?

I’ve had 3 cuts since the start of the year, you should be encouraging me to play well to get my handicap down,
It’s a process and it’s not ma fault if WHS doesn’t chop me 1.2 shots for 40 points any more.

I’m afraid getting your butt handed to you on a platter is going to be a regular thing if my hcp is to drop to a level that you deem acceptable 🫢

I played much, much better today than I have done recently. Decent ball-striking (for me anyway), driving was more solid and less slicey. The score wasn't as good as it should have been as I let a few putts go that should have been holed. 81 scored for 17 holes, which was 31 points, but there was quite a bit of wind about that kept changing direction and we even had a hailstorm at one point so not the nicest conditions. Blobbed the last hole with a double sadly too (got very unlucky with an extremely grassy lie just short of a bunker), never nice to blob the last, but overall very happy with how I played.

38 points in a very up and down round. 3 birdies but a bloody awful triple on our par 5 7th which consisted of me topping 3 consecutive irons about 30 yards apiece.

Greens have just been aerated though so putting was a lottery, but even so I left far too many short.

35 points today. Poor start still not used to how fast the greens have gotten. Better on the back nine dropped just one shot on the last hole.

4BBB yesterday. Couldn’t hole a putt all day unlike Friday when I had 5 birdies, yesterday I had none. Bored myself to death with 15 pars an 3 bogeys. We had 39 points, the winners had 50. However, they were subsequently DQd as their marker had entered their gross scores in the wrong columns on the card. 🤣

3 club challenge completed. 7,9 and sw were the chosen weapons

72 shots for 39 points

Fingers crossed 10.4 goes down
Every time you post a score James you are 39 and above. Your handicap needs looking at before the season 🤣

13th hole at Hindhead is a 271 yard par 4.
This close to greatness 🥶 Photo is taken from the angle the ball would have come in from…. the green runs fast down the hill left to right 🥶

A new course for me today the so called Championship course at Portal, not bad for a hotel course although there were bare patches on fairways anf greens in places.

It was an odd round, I started like a train par, birdie, par, par, holed a few putts and another par at the 6th and 3 over for the first nine including a 3 stab. then things fell off rather, at least with my putting and 4 3 stabs on the back nine including a couple missed from inside 18 inches to ultimately finish disappointingly with around 30 points
