I bought today.....

OK, so fitting today - 2.5 hours on driver, fairways and hybrids.

Note: He knew I am a 'sexy shaft man', so I walked into a spend fest 😁

Started with longest iron to get a baseline, which is a 5 iron for me at 160/5 carry.

Then onto Driver and worked back. I knew exactly the head I wanted and told the fitter (superb!), but based on my current driver stats, expected it not to be suitable. Trusty Ping start and went really well - I just hate Ping for being so good. Tried Cobra, Wilson, Callaway, but the Ping was winning in all aspects. THEN, he started really zoning in on shafts and by far, the performance with the Accra (green) made a massive difference - enough of a difference to try the TaylorMade Qi4D core. WOW! That was that - 225 carry average, with longest few over 230 and on an uphill range, total distance 250. From 220 total with my GT2 - SOLD.

Now, the fairways we started with the same TM Qi4D, which he already mentioned he expected to be perfect for me and a big personal fan of the fairways. I can't hit my Titleist 3 wood off the deck. He handed me a 3W HL, essentially a 4 wood and bang, 205 carry, with great flight and could stop, but likely too much run for stopping on a long par 3 - to be continued... Great off the deck and tee. SOLD

I LOVE my Titlest 5 wood, but we jumped from a 3 into a TM 7 wood, essentially set up as a 6 wood and a 9 wood set up as an 8 wood. Ended up with 4, 6, 8. Carry distances 205, 190, 175, which blends into my 5 iron 160/5.

But the shaft for my fairways 😍 which are outstanding - from a never heard of (by me) brand, AutoFlex. They were eyewateringly expensive, but just performed amazingly and fit perfectly into the 'sexy shaft' request in the rainbow colourway.

My irons and wedges have a red grip and expected to match, but they are out of stock everywhere, so went for green and gold on the driver (green shaft) and remaining woods (green works with rainbow). Shafts will be pured. 3-4 week delivery.

You only live once.

Edit: My new wedges landed today and will try them out on Saturday.

I think I’m in love with those shafts! They’re simply stunning.

As soon as I walked into the fitting bay, I clocked them, but kept schtum and waited to see how we got on. Getting the Accra in the driver was fantastic, but it didn't work in the fairways. He warned me 'they're expensive' before getting it off the rack, but loved hitting them and only found out when I went to pay. He showed me the price and I said that was fair for three, but it was each 😁

Oh I know they cost a pretty penny and I’m going for a driver fitting in a few weeks and I’m worried I’ll like them as well because it will double the cost of the driver 🤣

If you look, really hard, you may see me a hundred miles away - they are outlandish, but so am I :)

They didn't work in the driver for me, but fairways - oooosh.

Sounds like we’d make a good better ball team. I love outlandish, you’ll often see me wearing flowery shirts or ones with flamingos on them much to the annoyance of my wife and playing partners 🤣

I’m going in open minded to my fitting but those colours do draw me in!!
