How's your course looking?

It looks great. Some of the works condition greens from the winter need a little more time to complete cover the little patches that appeared on them but they are still run true and the pace is quickening up too.

The place looks ok but plays awful.

The greens have a really good covering of grass but they won't cut them down so they are painfully slow & bobbly.

Balls stopping midway up a tier in the green, it defies gravity!

Our greens are shocking just now, not much grass and very bumpy. Rest of it looks fine though. The greens have really suffered from the bad weather and there is just no growth on them. Hopefully it'll pick up soon.

Could do with some rain to be honest. We've been short on sunlight and it's been windy for weeks resulting in extremely dry and lacklustre growth.

Both JOG and Carthagina looking good, but like everywhere else they are about 3 weeks behind because of the cold weather. Greens are very firm, in good nick but still seeding, they should be finished soon then green staff can quicken them up. The rough is getting thick but its only about 38mm so not too bad. We had the Peak Production Trophy (scratch) at the weekend and everyone said how good the course was looking. It was won by Woburn, and exJOG member, now playing for Woburn, John Kemp winning the individual shooting 68-72 140 -2. Level was second, +4 third right up to +35. JOG can be a bit of a brute at times, especially when you havnt brought your A game with you. So yes, looking very good and getting better.

If anyone fancies a game up there please PM me and we can sort a game out, you will enjoy. Just ask Bob.

Played yesterday and it was gorgeous. We had a notts meet, week before last and they were raving about the course in speeches within the club house.

All very green and pretty. Rough's up a bit making it essential to keep on the short stuff, and the greens coming into top season condition soon. Speed very acceptable at the moment but by mid-June I'd say they'll be billiard table fast.

This is the best time of the year for courses I reckon, as if they get a caning off the sun in the next few months it tends to 'bleach them out' a bit too much for me.

Went to play a couple of holes after work last night and my course is looking fantastic.

We had our mens open on Monday and have a junior open today, so it's looking pretty much perfect.

After a bit of a rocket from an older member at the AGM, who pointed out how the previous greenkeeper (old Ted or summat like that) dressed the greens. This seems to have been followed over the last 3 months and guess what. The greens are coming up lovely. Wahoooooo!!!!!! We used to have the best greens in the county you know. Rest of the place.....perfect, right down to the beer which is tremendous!!!!

Although ours was struggling in April, it is now looking very good, the greens are miles better than a month ago and should continue to improve and there is still just a little too much grass on them.

Ours has had a lot of work done to the greens over the last couple of months which is really paying off and we were waiting for the tight summer cut to go on until on Monday morning when the green mower blew a hose and has left us with dying grass strips on the third green. Really is a shame as it's going to take a while to heal them up again. Real shame as the greenkeepers had worked so hard on them recently.
Other than trying to keep up with the grass growing too fast it's looking and playing great.

Ive got to be honest our greens are the best they have been since I have been a member, I have no idea how the green staff have managed it because this time last year they were mud, cracked and terrible. The turnaround has been quite amazing.

Courses should be looking good at this time of year.My place in good condition, but needs to be as its not the most visually inspiring track.
