Howdidido[whats happened].

HDID is a very clunky system very much dependent on the idiots inputting.

Hopefully, when we go over to the slope system we will get something far more sophisticated, with auto card readers, immediate updating, no lapsed handicaps etc.

HDID is just a front end website

The inputting is done on various other systems like Club Systems or Intelligent Golf.

People will still use things like HDID and you will still need to have humans checking cards to ensure its all correct when they input into whatever system is used.

Lapsed HC has nothing to do with any system

HDID doesn't give you anything, it only reports what your club sends in.

My away club has sent my info to my home club but my home club has not updated for whatever reason.

I am still 6.8 but have had 2 cuts recently with my away club and I have had to work out my handicap myself to play.

What a complete messed up system.
It seems if the secretaries are not on the ball everything goes wrong

Your away club sends the info to CDH

The home club sync to CDH which updates their system

Remember though that what is on CDH is what is active - the HDID again just displays what is sent to them - your club may have updated their club systems but not sent it to HDID to update the HC list ( a common thing )

All handicapping is done by your own clubs system, including accepting away scores, HDID is just a way of publishing that information.

Looks like its down to my home club then.

It probably is, but if the person responsible for it is a volunteer then the chances are that they only update the system after a club comp.

I wouldn't expect our chap to go to the club and update the system very often just on the off chance that any members have played away qualifiers.

HDID is pants compared to its competitors. Intelligent golf is so much better. i wish my club would move across.

Drives me crazy HDID doesnt show your performance on away competitions (even though the admin page does).

This is exactly whats happened Gaz.

Could be a recurring problem through the winter as my away club will have qualifiers all year and my home club is not from Oct to April

You have to remember that, even though the system of "Away score to Home Club via CDH" works very well, it is still the player's responsibility to report them to his Home Club. If your Home Club is not updating to CDH because they stop playing Qualifiers during the winter, then it's up to you to report your score and the comp's CSS to your club. When you have done this then I would expect your club to log on and update - job done.
