how would you feel being drawn against a 10 year old in a comp like this?

my club have just retained the Moray and Nairn Scratch league at Forres GC.

we have a fair few + handicap players, but with a few injuries and a drop out just before the 2nd match one of our players had to draft in his 10 year old son to play.

he is off 4 at the moment, but as its scratch no shots.

personally i'd be terrified

I'd smash him into the ground!!!!

Realistically....he'd kick my behind.

his brother is one of the current schoolboys stars of Scottish Golf and is off +4 and his dad is a +1 and was a pro

Get the win and in 20 years, after he's won a couple of majors, bore people senseless with tales of that time you beat him in a club match. But never mention his age!

:D

Personally I would just chat away to him and enjoy watching him play. Great shout from Capella. I know plenty who would hate it though, bruised egos etc.

We have a young lad who is a similar age ( but 'only' off 9 ) who plays in all the medals. He's a delight to play with and is clearly just buzzing having fun. I'm always happy to get drawn with him.

Make sure to get his autograph. Might make you a fortune in the future :D

Don't know, I got Justin Rose's autograph on a programme at Castle Stewart Scottish Open a few years ago and later auctioned it on ebay where it only made about £2.50, was before his US open win but worthless really!

All you have to do is talk to him about tamagotchi, Lego and play doh and your well away 👍
