I posted a few days ago in a thread about club custom fit and mentioned that I have long arms for a 6 footer. I should have had 1/2" shorter shafts but posted that my pro said to have standards and grip down a little.

It never felt comfortable at the time but I remembered what I wrote at the range yesterday and had a go with great effect and decided to go with it in todays first Sunday competition of the year. The result 79 - 11 = nett 68 ! I know a 65 is in but as i was hovering on 11.4 I will gladly take that and hope that I remember the grip on Wednesdays round.

Have you had a eureka moment after posting on here?

Yep.....
After having a nightmare season where i was trying to change my swingpath to draw the ball instead of staying with my reliable fade i was hitting it all over the shop.....
It got so bad at one point that i wasnt even sure where to aim...

Then a PM from Snelly told me to leave the brain at home and just go out and knock the ball around.....
The last 5 rounds before i got cut were nett 73,72,73,71,65.....

So id have to say a big thumbs up to the Forum.

Yes - quack quack hooks. James and Bob both advised clearing the left hip and taking some practice swings open stanced and feeling that with the hip out of the way. Range the next day and it felt great :thup:

Also when my head was bursting with techy stuff and Bob's advice to set up, nice shoulder turn and hit it - also worked a treat.

So not necessarily eureka moments but huge thank you ones :thup:

Remember reading a post about starting the down swing with a turn of the hips, big light goes on! Straight into the garden with some practice swings. The next few rounds were by best resulting in a cut! That's just a big one but many more inspirations have been had, like buying a v easy etc!!
