How to tell a friend their game has gotten REALLY slow?

My recent playing partner has those rounds where he looks like he's going to wrap the 3 wood round a tree. One day I just said to him that he needed to stop coming out of the shot to see where it went before he hit the ball. At first he gave me the stare, but after he hit the ball sweet he just laughed.

So we have a bunch of friends and colleagues who play regularly. Two people have lately got really slow - lining up putts, infinite practice swings reading the putt FOREVER. It's got to the point where people don't want to play with them.

Any advice on how to broach this with them without causing grief?

Much as I love a good golf sloth battering, what were they like before & what has changed? Is their golf better?

The conversation should go something like this:

You: "Did the RSPCA call you?"
Them: "Eh what, no why?"
You: "Because they've lost a tortoise and think it might have overtaken you on the 12th hole"

One of my regular playing partners is quite slow, winds me up.
I seem to have to tell him every other round to get a move on.
Which usually results in him sulking.
JUST HIT THE BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep been there, done that when a mate of mine was getting all angry on the 7th tee after a s*i*e putt on the 6th so I told him to "chill the f**k out or he'll struggle to play and I'll thrash him" his next shot was perfect and pitched the green and he hasn't thrown a wobbly since !...
