Was thinking about booking another set of lessons today and saw that Homer had had another one on his twitter page and seems to have them quite frequently and started to wonder, how often should you have lessons, or how often do you have lessons...

Is it better to have them weekly? Fortnightly? Monthly? Quaterly?

Had them once every 5-6 weeks as part of a block booking (only valid for a six month period). Plenty of time to work on drills and play a few rounds with the latest changes.

Won the medal today even with a quad and triple bogy so what we're working on is definitely taking me forward. Down to 11 so my goal of 10 looking quite realistic

Tend to have some time with the pro when I have a specific issue or a part of my game Im struggling with and cant fix myself, most of my long game stuff I put on camera and try to fix myself

I'm on a block of 5 and got my third on Saturday. As it worked out I've had one about 4-6 week apart but mainly down to when we can get to see each other. Going to have this one on putting as my full swing is coming together just need the putter tightening up although that has improved recently. Fourth I'm think short game and see what needs looking at for the last.

I never had lessons and got a lot of bad habits ingrained, since I started playing again decided that in order to improve, my best option was to find out what I was doing wrong and see if it could be put right.

It's all slowly coming together but I'm really struggling with release and open club face at impact, but I will sort that, it'll take time, but it will go and my scores will come down, that I am detirmed.

Never when I am playing badly as it shouldn't be hard to find your swing. I have mine when I am playing at my best in the hope of moving on with the swing as that's the time I feel most receptive to change.

I dont have them booked in so not sure it counts as regularly but I probably have one every 6 weeks or so.

Pro is also more than happy to be emailed video and give advice based on that so if something is happening all the time as opposed to different bad shots here and there I'll do that. Last couple of weeks I've been pulling a lot and it turned out face was closed at the top.

I would say go with one, on average every 3-4 weeks. The most common fault I find in people I teach is alignment, nearly every pupil has issues with alignment. If you aim wrong, you have to make a least one fault in your swing to get the ball to the target. Alignment is so easy to work on too, people get lazy.

I just have one or two "MOTs" each year to ensure things aren't going too far wrong.

Do you have any simple tips for alignment? I find that when I'm practicing on the range I don't even have to think about it as all the straight lines are there for me to make it easy but on the course I often don't feel I'm set up correctly over the ball but can't tell what's wrong?

I have lessons every 3-4 weeks having started playing August last year. It's funny as I had a lesson this morning and compared a video of my swing from today and last December and they are a world away from each other. I have yet to break 100 but feel now that things are really starting to come together. I can really feel the improvements and see the them too on the range. I just need to convert that onto to the course and hopefully the scores will start to fall.
