We need more courses like that.We have 30 only 2 of them fairway. 5 holes have none.
A few are interesting, too many are an irritation, and they're expensive to maintain properly.

Correct but they make up for it by playing foursomes and wearing long stockings.Ashdown forest is another course without bunkers from memory.
I quite enjoy foursomes particularly in winter, but my legs should never be seen in private so long stockings are superfluous as I don't wear shorts.Correct but they make up for it by playing foursomes and wearing long stockings.
There's a hole at mine which has a bunker at the front of the 16th green, with the green kidney shaped around it - I've only been there since April and I must have been in that bunker about 6 times, with 3 of those plugged in the face after coming up about a yard short. It's quite a "short" green but wide, with a thick bush about a yard off the back - haven't quite mastered that one yet65.
I've just joined, but in the 3 rounds I've had there, I've been in the same bunker off the 14th tee all 3 times!
We arguably have too many at over 80. The club approached the designer to see if we could remove some and after charging a consultancy fee they said no (if you still want to refer to it as an XXX designed course).
At least 12 are either redundant due to equipment changes, superfluous or just badly positioned. I would have votes to get rid but apparently his name was worth keeping.
Hexham as wellNo longer at Hexham?
Neither Minchinhampton Common (Old). Mind…it’s got plenty of cattle and hence cattle ordureCharnwood Forest has no bunkers.
Par 69 and CR 70.3 and SR 121
That was a 'planning' decision. Something to with conservation and the status of the land.Rushmore on the Wiltshire/Dorset border has 9 holes in each county. Only the holes in Dorset have bunkers on them.
