Hiya all. I've had my irons wich are tm tour burner 08.

There I good condition but not sure if there right for me.
They are my first set.

Just wondering how often people change there iron set.

I'm on my second set now. First set lasted 2 years. A set of Ping G10's to get me started. Once I improved I upgraded to Ping s56's.

Although there have been many a time where I wish I still had my G10's in the bag, so forgiving

......... not sure if there right for me.

this is a very valid reason for getting new ones.

Being absolutely sure the new ones will be better for you is another.

Like the way they look works.

For some it can be the latest must have shafts, grips (never change grips always get new clubs :D)

Finally, when you get that superb Callaway tour bag you will have to change your Taylormade irons, won't you?

3 sets between 1980 and 2009. One of these lasted 12 years.

3 sets since (mostly due to having to change due to age and infirmity).

Impression from this thread seems to be the lower the h/c the less often people change. Thinking about some of the low h/cappers at my club many of them seem to hang on to well used tried and tested clubs rather than get new shinies every year.

I replaced my TM R7s with a set of TM Cavity Back TP's however despite hitting them well I was not 100% convinced that the stock shafts suited me as they felt a bit boardy and following a shoulder injury i decided to put them up for sale and replace them with graphite shafted clubs.

The only problem was I didn't find a graphite shafted club that I could say that is the one for me.

My old R7's had Nippon NS pro shafts which I really got on with so when I got the opportunity to try a friends Cobra S2 Forged Irons fitted with Nippon NS Pro 1130 Tour Shafts I had to give them a try.

Occasionally something just feels right and these irons were no exception as I hit shot after shot. Given that they were on offer for £299 including a free GW it was too good an opportunity to miss.

Although they are labeled as a better players iron they are very forgiving and will be in my bag for a long time.

Went through a real phase of chopping and changing. Settled on the TM TP's about 3 years ago but decided Ineeded a tad more forgiveness so went for the R11's. Not really looking to change my irons now as I've the TP's I can use if and when my handicap gets down enough. It doesn't stop me looking and trying what is out there

Still got the original Callaway X Forgeds, by far the oldest clubs in the bag and still cant see me changing them anytime soon, struggle to see any improvement on whats on offer, they will get changed when the grooves are worn out or they have too many stone chips I expect
