Alcohol that is and it is not necessarily anything to be proud of.

However we went out for a couple of slurps earlier tonight and spoke to a guy we know. Used to play off 5, totally irrelevant, is a huge lad 6 ft 5, 20 stone plus and we got chatting.

He had a customer to see earlier today and had a quiet night last night and with 12 pints. Asked him what is the norm and the response was 20/22 pints!

Found this hard to believe but he had 4 whilst I had 1.5.

We like a bevy, mostly wine, but I found this unbelievable and 2/3 pints, not driving of course is more than enough.

Forgetting any health issues what are your limits?

One but I only usually drink when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win. So pretty much teetotal the last few years.

I'm ok with 3, but 4 gets a bit wobbly unless strung out over a long evening.

Because of work, I often have a week with nothing at all, so I think my liver has it pretty easy tbh.

You'll be at his funeral in a few years I imagine.

This^^^ - or his family will be visiting him serving time at Her Majesties pleasure

He also probably thinks he can drive perfectly well after 5 pints - in fact he'll tell you he drives better as his acuity is better. Until he kills a child who runs out into the road in front of him.

Wow, judgemental much!?

How you can tell the guys is a criminal and drink driver from such few clues is amazing! Have you offered your amazing services to the local constabulary?

Are you for real? Very poor response and extremely judgemental.

For balance...

A couple of decades back one of the chaps that was part of the group I drank with had two pints each time a round was got in... One he'd stick down his neck as if it was a shot the other he'd sup, in time, with the rest of us... An average session, in those days, being ten pints for the mere mortals meaning he'd have at least double that... He also had quite an appetite... In those days big steak pubs were popular... Where we'd be having prawn cocktails for starters he'd have the 36oz steak main... We'd then have the 12oz steak for our main course he'd have a second 36oz plate of steak...

Still see him about town, looks well enough for a man in the second half of his sixties and to the best of my knowledge he's never spent a minute inside... And, I reckon if he'd run a kid over I'd have heard about it...

Try to keep my drinking in check, these days, so have a self imposed limit of 12 units a week... Which is probably still too much...

It is simple for me I never drink (over the limit) and drive my licence is far to precious.

These days I never drink heavy anyway I did my liver in many years ago and it's taken a long, long time to get it back to reasonably normal.

When I was a teenager/early 20s several pints and a half to a full bottle of spirits a day was quite common. I worked in 'all hours' very friendly pub and a lot of the drink was bought for me, the manager and I took it in turns to sleep it off)

There are some 10-12 pints blokes in my wife's old village, it has a real drinking culture. They have the most amazing bellies and oddly enough are all single 😁. Anything more than 2 gives me a raging headache the next day so I stop there. My physical capacity is 3, maybe 4 pints at most but I haven't gone there for a long time.

Absolute banger!

Drink most days, yesterday I had a session. 1 bottle of 330 ml sol with lime ( part of me 5 a day). Just cannot get me head around those who can literally drown themselves in ale. How do they do it.

If I'm in the right frame of mind and have prepared well for it (well rested and set myself up well with food during the day) I can do a very healthy session on beer. Harder to judge because I don't drink pints, I drink mostly craft beer which comes in varying strengths and measures but I'd imagine if I drank the standard pints of lager I'd be able to drink pretty much all night and still be alright.

Erm - I am very for real on alcohol. Of course it's judgemental - the guy is an irresponsible danger to the public if he chooses to drive after drinking the amount he claims to drink - both the same evening and the day after. If he doesn't then it's his health and that of those close to him and who care for him that he damages.
