How much £££ on driving range

I think there's a lot to be said for getting valuable practice time on an actual golf course. On the other hand, I've read on here that things like changes to your swing can take hundreds of ball hits before it becomes second nature and you can't really do that out on the course. Realistically, I'd have thought you need a range for that so there's advantages for both.

Range 1mile from me is 5quid for 3 tokens each token is 45balls
I only use that range between nov-feb during the week sometimes only once a week

Prefer practice at my club hit your own balls collect them :)

Could be there for hours

I use the range up at Parklands, it's £5.50 for 100 balls, but through out November every other basket has been half price, so it works out £8.25 for 200 balls, tey also have a deal where if you pay £45 up front you get a book of 10 vouchers each worth 100 balls, so you save £10 on normal prices.

I'll pay the £45 and the book will last me the month going 2 or 3 times a week.

That written though I sometimes go every night, depending on how board I am.

Think I will invest in a mat and decent net for the garden.

yes they have a dispenser, but i go over to Dunbars practice ground and anyone can use that, plus its covered so if its blowing a gail you get some shelter.

Though the machine at Nairn gets put away Nov to March so you use your own balls over the winter, which is about the only time i use the practice ground.

Where are you a member, can't be around here ?

I'm at the dunbar, live 5mins walk away so pretty handy. I'm there most weekends as long as I can get on some part of the range, although I try to go early to keep the better half happy. The sheds a great thing as you say, especially when the snow starts and you can still practise

Bugger i thought i was going to get a free run at The North of Scotland heat of the GM Champ of Champs.

using the range saves me having to sit through x factor, eastenders and that abysmal jungle programme.

i'd still go if it was £5.50 per ball, and consider that a bargain.

Far more than most on here :(

Our closest range is World of Golf New Malden

PAYG is about £8.50 for 100 off peak and £10 during peak.

It gets cheaper the more you buy, I tend to go off peak about twice a week with the range card works out to about £6.15 for 100 or about £50 a month

There are some advantages ...

open from 6am - midnight
floodlit course
heated bays
power tee mats
protracer

£10.00 a year on top of our subs and you can hit as many balls as you want all day long. Only problem is that the range is not long enough to hit drivers and 3 woods. However, I practice my driver (if I need to) by saving all the duff balls that I find and by taking them over to the public driving I can whack them away for free. It's a win win situation. I don't pay and the driving range gets some half decent balls.

Range near me is £5.70 for 90 balls. Fully floodlit until 9:30pm every day.

My club is £5.00 for 100 balls, but the driving range closes at sundown since there is no flood lighting.
