How many comps do you consider "healthy"?

Medal play is the test so I play as many comps as I can and hope to get in at least 30 this year.

That's a figure I can only dream of. I only get one weekend off a month so I will play 15 to 20 maximum medals/medal rounds this year including 36 hole opens etc.

Young family and shifts are not ideal but I expect to play more this year than previous.

My club sound like the opposite of most posted so far. We have a comp every Saturday and most Sundays, plus a mid week medal/stableford which rotate each week plus there is usually a nine hole qualify most weeks. I've played 4 qualifiers and 2 4bbb so far and I've missed the last two mid weeks medals. Plenty of opportunity to play qualifiers really. We have quite a large membership so maybe this helps and takes the pressure off in only playing them on a Saturday.

Two rounds today; bang on handicap this morning, 0.4 cut this afternoon to get back to 7 and qualify for county champs match play! Roll on the next comp!

Well played

How did you get on in the Interclub comp on Saturday? I was out on the course ahead of the matches, but we crossed paths as I was teeing off on the 12th one of the matches was playing up the 5th.

Not great! We got knocked out in the quarter final on Friday night. ;)

Difficult conditions, tough opponents and, unfortunately, my swing fell apart about half way round.

Play every medal I can.
Really keen to reduce my handicap this year.
Not going brilliantly so far, had a 2x shot cut from playing in a open at an away course, then 2x consecutive 0.1 increases at my home course after playing badly.
The last medal I shot within buffer (2x over) so no change.

5 competitions a week if I'm on my days off. !! Sat/Sun/Weds with my home club and Tues/Thurs with an affiliated club.
Leave Monday and Friday to practice without a white card in my pocket. The only problem is a swift rise in the handicap if the swing
goes AWOL
