About 4 miles. Can take 10 or 40 mnutes - depends on time of day (school run etc).

Regularly travel 25/30 miles to play with some ex work mates. Furthest so far is South Africa :D :D

We could organise a day at Blairgowrie for anyone that is interested some time towards the end of February, hopefully have some better weather by then.

Fee's for Landsdown £25 with a bacon roll, tea-coffee,round of golf and lunch, Rosemount is £30 cracking deal on two great courses, or anywhere else you may fancy I don't mind travelling.

I'm going for the record here-

My club Portpatrick Dunskey is 90+ miles down the A77 from my home! (We have a caravan down there)

I only get to play there between March and October but it is a very nice and well kept course with a nine hole par three as well.

There are two municipals within 5 mins drive of my house- one very well kept and one where you could do with a pair of spiked wellies in July :(

I also like to go down to Troon with its three municipals the Fullarton is great for a high handicapper which I am (at the moment) :p

about 3 miles in a taxi as I still have not passed my test, so thats a tenner everytime I want to go to the local and £15 if I want to go to a decent driving range which is four miles away + green fees and buckets.

I need to stop smoking and take driving lessons.

Perhaps this is a record. My partner owns a Driving Range and I have to walk less than 50 yards to the bays!
Only problem is like the proverbial "Cobblers Bairns" I hardly ever go and hit balls!

How far do you travel to go to your members golf club, how long does it take you. Also how far would you be prepared to travel to join a prefered club?

To My clubs I travel 1.6 miles & 14 miles, depending which I'm playing.

Ironically It doesn't take that much longer to go 14 miles than to go less than 2 miles... go figure. So it takes me anywhere between 10 - 15 minutes, or 20 - 25 minutes depending which club.

to be honest 15 miles or so is about on the limit, or should I say its more a case of time. Any more than half an hour is too much to get to a club I wish to play regularly.

Idealy I'd prefer to be able to walk out the front door, walk no more than a few hundred yards to the first tee.... I wish. Perhaps I should get a job at a golf club on a live at basis...lol

I have a 10 min drive on very quiet roads, wouldn't be tempted to go anywhere else, there is a course 3 min drive from me in centre of Berwick but it is a midden of a track but does have a decent social side as you can go drink there something you can't do at Goswick but a golf course is for golf.....
Toad you are a lucky man playing at good Crieff!!2 cracking courses and I enjoy the Hydro's track too, played there umpteen times having spent a few holidays at the Hydro and received a few lessons fron the legend that was John Stark. I played in the Scottish Boys Strokeplay at Crieff in the mid 90's and I still maintain that is probably the best conditioned I have seen a course presented in Britain.
With regards to Taymouth did I read that it was gonna be 6 star??!!
I too would be up for a round with any fellow Jocks.

About 2 miles from one course with great practice facilities to boot and about 20 minutes drive down the A1 to the other. Also got two driving ranges within a few minutes of my house….how good is that.

Have the option of about twenty great courses within a 20 or so mile radius. East Lothian Scotland is just golf heaven guys. :)

I travel 15 miles, taking 15-30 mins depending on tractors. I would be prepared to travel about 40 miles if need be.

2.9 miles to my current course, 5 mins or so in the car.

The new club I should be joining is 0.9 miles or 2 mins in the car.

There are a good 10 maybe more clubs within 15 miles of me. Maybe a good 20 within 30 miles.

Furthest I would want to travel to if I was a member would be about 5 miles. I dont finish work till 1900 so in the summer, having one on the doorstep will leave me with plenty of time to get a round in. Plus If i want to pop out for 9 holes I dont want to spend 30 mins driving. Not to mention having a club less than a mile away will be a bonus when I fancy a few pints.

This is a blast from the past thread. Still only travel about 5 miles to Ascot although it can take 15-20 minutes with dodgy traffic. If a course is worth playing and the company good I'll travel (money allowing) to most parts of the UK (not sure that will be happening soo with HID unemployed :().

takes about 10 minutes to get to mine. There's a better one on the other side of town (15 minutes) but its more expensive and often busy - mine's quiet and I can turn up and play
