How do you think the pros would get on just with irons?

As the title says, what do you reckon? if every tour player just had a set of 1-wedge irons and a putter, no drivers fairways or hybrids then how do you think they'd get on? and do you think there would be a noticeable scoring change? Personally I think most would do fine, I think the long hitters or players such as tiger and luke who have exceptional iron play would do well. I think there would be maybe 3 shots difference per round, probably on par 5s where reaching in 2 would become difficult :)

i'm not sure,it depends a lot on what courses they are playing and that would also effect different players such as kj choi and the likes who depend on their hybrid clubs on longer par 3's.

it would be good to see just to see how well they do,i think tiger would fair well because he is so wayward with the driver and probably scores better if he leaves that driver well alone.we seen that with him using the 2 iron from the tee.

i also don't think par 5's would make much difference because players would settle for getting there in 3 where as just now they attack and go for the green in 2 which in itself can cause a wayward 2nd resulting in a higher score.just think of what zach johnson did at augusta when he won,i don't think he went for any of the par 5's at all and he birdied them for fun.

I'm not so sure about the pro's but can have a positive effect on your own game. A few years back I swapped my clubs from my car to my wife's before heading down to play the medal. Only realised I had left driver and 3 wood in my car when I got there. Played with only 3-PW, LW and putter, shot 74 gross and won the medal. Think I should actually try this again soon. Makes a difference playing from the short stuff ;)

Makes a difference playing from the short stuff ;)

It does. In my first ever round I chose driver on most holes that weren't par 3s, and the short par 4 i tried to get as close to the green as possible, I didn't play well so when I went out again 2 days later I used a hybrid or 3 wood off most tees and on that short par 4 I used an iron, made a big difference, made nearly double the amount of GIR's, although I still putted like a tool so my score didn't reflect that  :D
