recently ive been desperate to buy the amp 3 wood to match the hybrid and driver, but as form was poor i held back. My theory was if i cant hit whats in my bag why spend more on new sticks i cant hill.

Anyway, after my PB the other night it was home... online... buy it now... job done.

My thinking was if i can shoot a PB then i deserve a new shiney.....

do others given incentives in order to spend or do you just shop at freewill?

Like most of us mugs on here I often fall for the falicy that new equipment buys success, we all know it doesn't but we all continue to delude ourselves that new equipment automatically equates to a better swing and is the easy route to being a better golfer. Of this I am and will continue to be guilty.

I put all of my change into a pot, this becomes my golf fund no pain when buying then.

I'm not quite sure I justified the recent AMPS purchase, set me back just over £800 altogether (still waiting for them) but figured that it would be an end of financial year bonus to myself (I'm self employed) and I'll sell my Ping gear to pay back some of the money I have taken out of my business account.

Can I run golf clubs through expenses? ;)

If you have a Limited company, you can purchase through the business (who then owns them) and declare them as a " benefit in kind " on your returns and only pay tax at your marginal rate on the value! (as I understand the system)

HID is pretty chilled about my purchases. As long as the money is there and I'm not running up huge credit card bills and we can still save a bit, go out for dinner a few times per month etc she's happy. Birthday in June so eyes on a new putter and a new GPS.

This is, pretty much, how HID and myself are.

I dont question her shoe addiction. She doesn't question new shineys

There has to be a "y' in the day for me to justify a new purchase...........no "y" - no purchase....I find this discipline keeps me on the straight and narrow.

not sure about that? you could possibly stick the name of your business on your bag and write it on your shafts etc and call it advertising, you can defintley do this if you customise your golf balls with your business name, logo etc

I love the game any expense as long as it doesn't bankrupt me is ok

I find it hard to justify purchases to myself, im lucky as HID is brilliant regarding buying stuff , struggle to buy balls now never mind gear ha ,, get this bloody holiday paid , then its back to school etc .. buy golf gear ha ,

If you want it and you can afford it buy it mate .. feck it

I'm pretty settled with what's in my bag now so what else could I do. I bought a new bag and matching umbrella from gokart! Despite my other bag only being 9 months old but the older design. Waiting for it to arrive today. How did I justify it, errr the ball sylo is higher so I won't have to bend as much and risk straining my back. Yeah that's a good reason.
