How do you justify new purchases

I'm not quite sure I justified the recent AMPS purchase, set me back just over £800 altogether (still waiting for them) but figured that it would be an end of financial year bonus to myself (I'm self employed) and I'll sell my Ping gear to pay back some of the money I have taken out of my business account.

Can I run golf clubs through expenses? ;)

Charitable donation of a raffle prize. Worked for me with the GPS:whistle:

Easiest way is to float the idea of a purchase on this forum, say you're undecided, then sit back as everyone piles in and tells you to "DO IT!!!!"

Then you can blame peer pressure.

It worked for me :whoo:

I "justify" golf purchases as it's my hobby/love/obsession etc etc and otherwise I'm not extravagent. Plus I'm at that age when I've worked hard for too long not to enjoy the rewards.

I'll generally only buy if I'm really sure it will benefit my game and I "need" it although was on Ebay early today and took a punt at a 17 degree Rapture Hybrid and now seem to own one

If its a club that i want to change, I'll give it a month to fall back in love, Do some ebay trawling for a bargain. Find the bargain, buy it and punt the old yin

With clothes & other kit i buy it if I like it

New Nike sport cart bag is winking at me at the mo.....oh you little tease

Where's my visa card ??

surely you could sponsor an event/ hole/ or advertise, in return for some new clubs!!

Much easier to justify golf stuff to HID than when I was buying lots of fly tying stuff. Small bag with some feather capes and few other bits arrives in the post. She opens it and see's invoice. £100 for some feathers, she was not impressed.

At least golf stuff looks pricey.

I find it really hard to buy new kit. It's not so much justifying the cost it's more a case of knowing in most cases what I have got is good enough. With the exception of my old wedges I have hit all my clubs really well. Even my recent flirtation regarding a new putter resulted in a decision to keep the current one. I find when you post on here you get a split of the Lee Nelson Omelette Peer Pressure challenge (BBC3 comedy for those who are confused) and those giving you a slap and telling you to man up and use what you've got.

I can find it hard to justify...and sometimes, there is no justification to what I buy. I've just purchased a new carry bag for instance. I don't NEED it, as I have a perfectly good one, but it was on special offer, and I have liked it for ages, so I bought it. You can't take money with you when you go, so may as well spend it now!
