Honestly GM! Really!

There was some Stubbert and Dunlop gear listed and it may have been better for the supplement to show comparable items for a lower budget, sticking with the style categories.

The point is as far as I'm concerned these prices are an absolute farce and not for the working man with two kids and a dug!

It clearly stinks of elitist golf where only the best clobber is acceptable.

Oh come on, it's a clothes supplement, what were you expecting? Of course they will showcase the newest fashionable stuff from the top ranges, no one wants to see a supplement consisting of sensibly priced clothes and forgiving trousers with elasticated waists for the middle aged gentleman. Read SAGA magazines golf supplement if you want that.

You get one thread on dress codes banging on about how dress codes are OK as golf clobber is allegedly trendy now so it can attract the younger generation. Then you get another thread moaning that the mag showcases some of this trendy clobber that will attract the younger generation.

just bought chino shorts for £12.50 from M&S there is absolutely nothing wrong with them as golf shorts, totally agree cannot justify that price in the GM,only my view

Crawford, you are a hard man to please!

Look at it like this... your bag is probably full of top-end clubs that others wouldn't contemplate buying, while you deck yourself out in Slaters, M&S and George. Others might opt for a set of Donnays and spend their money on trying to look like Jesper Parnevik! ;)

Jesper Parnevik is an anagram of:-

Jeepers pink rave

...if you can have an extra 'E' please, Bob. Yes, a slow night.

To be honest most of my golf shirts are adidas or footjoy. My trousers are Stromberg or adidas. These are brands I know fit me well, look as good as they can given the raw material, and are mid-priced compared with other retailers.

I don't see how the clothes supplement is different to the the mega expensive clubs I can't afford or the amazing courses I can't afford to play either. Not to mention all the ones the magazine showcases abroad. There was a lot of nice clothing in the supplement. I can't afford the vast majority of it. That said I can't afford a Bugatti Veyron or any other super car for that matter, still like watching Top Gear though..,

This is the same with everything in life, you buy a porche but a fiesta will get you from a to b in exactly the same way. I personally would spend £40 on a pair of shorts rather than have any cheap others even though they do the same job.

Is it not the same with any supplement review of latest released gear whether it's golf clothing, cars or tv's nice to see the latest ranges but generally won't be anywhere near most of us until RRP's start falling. Eg. Poulter tartans £120 at release price recently been bagged for £35.
Would putting a price cap on things mean we don't get to hear about the latest Stewart lithium trolley or Aston Martin forged irons?
Nice to read all about different releases even if they are only a pipe dream.

Edit edit note to self type quicker or others will post the same thing!

Not so much hard to please just aghast at some of the prices in that supplement. I would never in a million years pay £170 for a windstopper when I can get one for £50 nor would I ever contemplate buying shorts at nearly 90 quid!!!

I'm sure there is a market for that range and good luck, this bear can't shop at these prices.

Fair enough, Crawford...

Some choose to push the boat out on certain things, and some on others

Would agree with you on the Kangol cap though... that's only £2 less than my first car, although I did sell it 2 years later for £110 which I'm sure you couldn't get for a secondhand Kangol cap!

Well said homer, FJ recent range is spot on and reasonably priced.

I appreciate that Jezz and I did say in my opening post that a lot of the kit on display was nice and looked smart however the prices are eye watering!

I'd much rather have decent playing equipment and trying to progress my game than having all the latest golfing fashion trends. Performing over posing

Always been a J Lindeberg whore from the day Jesper starting wearing it ,but not anymore i've not bought anything from this seasons lineup as the prices are shocking and the quality is very poor.

This springs collection is mainly made up of Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani and a sprinkling of Gant. Any other fashion attire tips you need just ask
