I shake my head in disbelief at your guide to style supplement in this months magazine. I agree a lot of it is nice on perfect models and some of the cuts style etc do look very smart however have you looked at the prices???

Lets start with golf shorts, cheapest at £40 and the most expensive an incredible £89!!!! SERIOUSLY! For a pair of shorts to play golf in! I'll stick to Slaters, M&S and Asda George!

A windstopper jacket, £169, windstopper vest £169. You can buy a decent waterproof suit cheaper than that! Granted you have included a £17 Dunlop windstopper as well.

Also a Kangol cap at £68!

I'm sure there are people on here with that sort of money to burn and will do so however I can't help but feel you've isolated a vast number of golfers and kept up golf's snooty "expensive" and "exclusive" image.

i think i saw one of the belts was something like £120! how i LOL'd.

Maybe a supplement with you and RicharT for this years Summer/Autumn collection from M&S as an idea??

glad I'm not the only one who choked at the prices. I always knew there were premium brands but there was little in the way of 'regular' clothing for us normal sized blokes

Missed the price thing but the missus had a look at the clothes and asked me if there was anything for me. My answer was ' can you seriously see me in that? It's gear for youngsters not oldies like me'.:)

I am not parading in my M & S thermals thank you.

I just knew you were a fan of m&s therms! (To be honest, so am I!) it could be tasteful pictures.. think of the adverts that Beckham did for Armani underwear.. kind of like that?

Can't remember the last time I paid full price for any golf clothing. There are loads of bargains to be had in the various sales that are highlighted in the forum and at Sports Direct.

To be fair I think I would be even more incredulous to see a "style" supplement featuring shorts from George at Asda. Though good value they very well may be.

I'm thankful of the supplement as you don't always see some of the great looking clothing advertised in the local shops so using this as a guide then Google-ing it, I have found a couple of very good sites I wasn't aware of before and prices tend to be around 10-20% cheaper than those displayed.

Are GM going to do a Sue Ryder clothing supplement for Craw??

If your stupid or rich enough to fire 89 sheets away on a pair of shorts or 68 sheets for a kangol cap feel free. I'll stick to cheap as chips cotton shorts from high street stores.

I reckon they should do a Primark golf supplement. You could kit yourself out for a whole season for £8!

I'm with Craw - £40 shorts - really? Over priced to the extreme!

Craw I think you're missing the point. I don't think the GM team sat down and thought I know let's do a style supplement. I'm sure Trendy Golf thought we'd like there to be a style supplement and we'll sponsor it. Income for the mag, a nice opportunity for three forumers and a glossy pull out for those with money to burn

I'm with Craw; one quick scan and then in the bin with the comment " Are these people for real!".

The point is as far as I'm concerned these prices are an absolute farce and not for the working man with two kids and a dug!

It clearly stinks of elitist golf where only the best clobber is acceptable.

Crawford, you are a hard man to please!

Look at it like this... your bag is probably full of top-end clubs that others wouldn't contemplate buying, while you deck yourself out in Slaters, M&S and George. Others might opt for a set of Donnays and spend their money on trying to look like Jesper Parnevik! ;)
