Holidays 2025

We have thought this for a few years now. If the holidays are good enough, they will keep on joining you. Mine are 22 and 25, and they are with us again this year 😄
Yep our 24 and 20 year olds will be joining us for two weeks in Cornwall, I love them coming tbh. Last 2 years the youngest brought his girlfriend but they just split up (🤦‍♂️) so just the four of us and the woof.

Staying near Crackington Haven, will take my clubs and play Bude and Launceston, will also try Coasteering and have a bash at surfing. :D

Uno and Rummikub standing by!🎴

No chance of doing any sort of flights for me this year. Just a week in Northumberland at the start of June. All my clan including grand daughter:)

Just back from two sunny weeks in Gran Canaria, off to Spain for a week in September and hope to squeeze in a city break to somewhere like Amsterdam later in the year. Every second year we go to Portugal for two weeks with our daughter, son in law and grandchildren. We all love it there.

Think the one we rent was built in 2014. Overlooks the 10th tee/fairway next to the hotel.
It was before 2014, about the time when the property market in Spain crashed. Some of the nice restaurants closed down as well.

But it didn't take anything away from our time there and all three courses were brilliant.

Regenerated since then. Brilliant independent restaurants, a tapas bar, curry house, Italian and a taverna all reasonably priced to balance up the hotel owned ones (ridiculous pricing).

I’ve got a Benidorm trip with the lads in July. Then a family holiday in Benalmadena in August. Then we’re off to Santa Ponsa in September with friends. Trying to squeeze a city break in May but conflicting work commitments making it tricky.

was a very good Indian restaurant at the top of the complex that had fantastic views over La Manga. I wonder ir that was resurrected?

Kevin and Perry?? :ROFLMAO:
Our two sons were 16 & 14 when they last came on holiday with us.

They considered holidays with "the Oldies" beneath them after that and we were more than happy with their decision.

That was the old Indian, fantastic views and the food was great. It was in the same building as the old spa and events centre.

Long gone sadly as it was resort owned when they sold up and split Las Lomas village from the main centre.

The new Indian is the Curry Garden, overlooks the football training centre.

Not booked anywhere, yet, but it’ll be somewhere in Spain or Portugal. We’re looking to move house, again, early this year which will cost us a few €€€…

We’ll do a few weekends away, though not too far. First one is to a 3 day bowls comp in a few weeks time. We’ve got in touch with the hosting club, only 50kms away, to organise a meal with whoever wants to join us at the restaurant in the hotel.

The last time I went for a "holiday" was a road trip to play golf near Pisa at Easter time with some other teachers when I lived in Germany....probably about 1997. I've gone to the Canaries once for 2 weeks at Christmas....maybe 1995 or so.....came back a week early. Jeez I was bored. Sitting on a beach etc gets real old after a few days for me and I'm a terrible tourist.

Is Crackington Haven some kind of euphemism for your son's ex g/f? 🤔

We had five nights in Marrakesh three weeks ago; end May we've four nights Rome followed by four nights in the hills of Umbria; and my Mrs is talking about Madeira September time. Will also be popping to Porthcawl for three, maybe five, days at end of July - that'll just be me.

A week in Tavira and a week in Northumberland with my wife.

A couple of boys trips. Usual North Berwick weekend then 4 days in Whitby.
