Holidays 2025

We had five nights in Marrakesh three weeks ago; end May we've four nights Rome followed by four nights in the hills of Umbria; and my Mrs is talking about Madeira September time. Will also be popping to Porthcawl for three, maybe five, days at end of July - that'll just be me.
We had a week in Funchal in 2019. Loved it and will go back.

Lake District end of June for a week (during term time, naughty). In-laws are with us so I can relinquish a lot of parental responsibility, which is nice.

Then 10 days st my uncle’s villa in Sotogrande, south Spain in August.

We have thought this for a few years now. If the holidays are good enough, they will keep on joining you. Mine are 22 and 25, and they are with us again this year 😄
In Gran Canaria right now and my 19 year old is with us. They said “why would I turn down a free holiday?”

Was 24C yesterday but it gets a bit chilly at night. Think it was “only” 16C last night and there were people wrapped up in coats with hoods up and I’m sitting there in shorts and t-shirt thinking “it’s been -2C for weeks, this still feels really warm.”

Loads of retirees around as well, never seen so many pensioners on my holiday before but we usually go away during peak time.

Forgot we're doing DLP in October too, went a couple of years back and scared the boy half to death on The Tower of Terror and he wants another crack at it.
I remember me and my brother in law having to do the walk of shame with our kids who were both about 8 at the time. Got right to the front of the queue and both the kids freaked out and refused to go on while me and him are trying our best to coax them on. Must have looked like the worst dads in the world.

Had to take the emergency stairs at the back to get out of the place. 😂

Mine didn't know what it was, even after we got on the lift he was unsure, then the doors opened up the top and we dropped 100ft...he soon realised what was going on.

Is this the Star Wars ride you are talking about.....
My oldest boy was 9, but is tall so could get on rides that really he was to young for.
Ended up coming off the Star Wars Rollercoaster and a few minutes later burst out crying as he was scared to death.
We had to take a Time out after that 😂 😂 😂

Used to work with a guy from Umbria many years ago, "the green heart of Italy " they call it. Intending to go next year, Assisi, Perugia etc look lovely

Scotland just after Easter - not really a holiday but visiting wife's family again. Cotswolds golf trip in July. Hopefully that'll be all but I'm sure my wife will make us spend money on an actual holiday somewhere. She keeps muttering about Dubai but sod that.

Nah The Tower of Terror, felt like being in a Twighlight Zone episode.

We went to Assisi a few years ago, not staying, just visiting. It is stunningly beautiful, a classic hilltop Italian town. If you are anywhere near it, definitely go.

Has anyone done a European river cruise? I can’t stand the idea of a massive ship cruise, but the 20 to 30 room boats look really good and you get to dock in the nice parts of town.
Also have seen one that you can play golf at decent courses 3 or 4 times in a week long cruise.

We're charging them this year as their both working full or part time. Although I haven't actually had any money from them yet lol

Just had a week in Lisbon and got a week in Istanbul in Sept. trying to get something sorted for San Sebastian in April. a week is the longest we can get away with for Rupert being looked after.

About to go on the second golf holiday of the year to Florida, golfing in Naples this time then watching the Players at Sawgrass. Later in the year a week in Palm Springs and another week in Naples FL.

I was in Adeje, Tenerife at NY there and stayed in the new GF Victoria hotel. Absolutely loved it and would go back in a heartbeat if funds allow as it is a bit pricey
