I hope not but I fear it will.

There was no passion from the Liverpool players and I think that's what the Liverpool fans hate the most.

Who'll replace him though??

Before yesterday I'd have said Hughes to go which may have left a gap for Hodgson to go back. Still think Hughes will be out of a job by the end of January but think Hodgson will last a few more games

Seem to remember a certain Man Utd manager, having a dreadful start, and only keeping his job courtesy of a late Mark Robins goal in a FA Cup match.

Trouble is chairman expect instant results with a new manager, but the reason the majority are appointed in the first place, is because the team are not that good. Take away Torres, Gerrard and the keeper(?), how many of the remaining players Hodgson inherited, would get into a top ten premier league team, let alone a top four team. Liverpool have poor players, and their league position reflects that.

Not that my credentials are that great to comment, as i have supported Reading since 1969 ! :D

I think he's doing a great job

You an everton fan? ;)

yeah I am

our manager isn't doing too good at the moment either. Moyes is really starting to piss me off. Yesterday he had 3 strikers on the bench and started with a midfielder as a lone striker. He really baffles me sometimes.

I think Gerrard will stay, if he was going to leave he'd have done it a few years ago, and don;t think he'd want to leave when they really need him. Torres and Reina could be on their way though

I hope Hodgson stays (another Everton fan) but Liverpool fans seem to have forgotten what a truly dreadful squad he inherited. Benitez wasted millions on rubbish players, and Liverpool fans somehow fell for his "it's all the fault of these American owners" excuses.

I don't think there's an arguement. The bloke was never suited to Anfield. He looks proper poorly to me and should go for the sake of his health. My son and grandson both support Liverpool and my son is not chuffed to say the least. Mr Hodson would take great comfort from my grandsons defence of his team tho'. Talk about blind faith from the young, he's eight and football daft, and defends his team like only an eight year old can.

Personally, i think if Liverpool carry on losing, and they don't move on Hodgson and bring in someone of the calibre that Liverpool fans expect then I honestly think Gerrard will move on.

Maybe with the new American owner he might take a look at Arena?!? :)

EH? Where? Speaking as a bit of a Celtic fan he was worse than useless when his luck ran out, as well as signing fannies on long over paid contrtacts then shagging off.

Said this a few months ago. How can Liverpool be blind to what Hodgeson has achieved?
What has he won?
All he's managed to do is keep Fulham in the Premier League on a shoestringbudget - no mean feat but that doesn't mean he's good enough to manage a club like Liverpool who expect Championships and Cups not just staying up.

Err Little Fat Bro, you seem to forget that he not only kept Fulham im the premiership, but guided them to the final of the Europa League as well

You risk the wrath of Homer for forgetting that

Basically, his problem is that he inherited a bunch of average players, had a few injury issues and wasnt given any cash to buy his way out.

It takes 2 to 3 years to turn a team around, I fear there is more hurt to come at liverpool, but sacking a decent manager after just a few months wont make any difference.

I agree with you Fragger but the problem for Liverpool's owners is what to do now??

Do they back Hodgson to the hilt and give him money to spend in January and at the end of the season and stick with him for at least another 18months regardless of results.

If that backfires and he doesn't turn it round then Liverpool are at least another 3 years away from a new manager building their (better?) team.

What it showed last night is that Liverpool are a 3 man team (poss 4man). Reina is quality, Torres is quality although totally disillusioned, Gerrard can't be expected to come back from a month out and win a game single handedly for the umpteenth time.

Sad times at Anfield but the rot isn't down to Hodgson. Good man being dealt a lousy hand.
