HMS Gannet

Incredibly brave people, will have saved thousands of lives in their time.

When the pit shut, as I have mentioned before I put a letter in asking for some money to go to our two captains day charity's, they were awarded just shy of 23K.
One was Notts Lincs air ambulance, when the air ambulance guy turned up for his cheque we were talking about the new contract awarded to Bristow helicopters to cover the air sea rescue service, (privatisation) in essence he was saying there are serious concerns about this rather than staying with the services that HMS Gannet provide.

They will be missed, especially by me as I am currently employed in writing the maintenance manuals for them. When the Mk 7's go in a couple of years it will be a very sad day for our armed forces as the Sea King has been the backbone of just about every conflict during the last 40 years.
