Is Waddington still going? Used to be AWACS when I lived down that way, admittedly 20 yrs ago. Crikey, when I first spent a lot of time in Lincolnshire, Binbrook was still in operation, with Lightenings I think... late 70's.
Waddington is still going very strong, home to ISTAR, which if I remember is Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Aquisition and Recconaissance, has a large Army element there as well.

Yeah Waddo is still there and massive - main reconnaissance base - Awacs still there plus the Sentinel and the Reaper Drones - No 1 Group are there as well as Air Warfare Centre - spent loads avoiding the place 😂. Binbrook closed late 80’s but still the RAF Rugby 7’s Comps is called the Binbrook Bomb

Brilliant tribute a great man an his memorial and daily vigil for the ten airmen he feels he sent to their death. Fantastic story and well done to Dan Walker for working so hard to reward Tony Foulds for his hard work. So emotional to watch live
