Just a say hi post

newbie to golf

and just played my first round of golf at deer park last week after 6 weeks on the golf range

it all started as the only woman mad enough to join in the work department golf comp with 6 weeks to get good enough to get round a course

and has ended with me utterly hooked on golf

bought my first set of clubs and joined a local golf course and loving every minute of it

:)

Deer Park in Livingston

yip thats the one

just missed parring 7th and 10th - 3 pars got on the green in 2 on both of them then took 2 due to my putting, laffs putting in your living room is not quite the same as on a very very wet green

the 12th is a hell of a hole for a beginner - all up hill

it's a great place - we had soup and sandwiches to start - round of golf and then 2 course dinner for £35

it was really lovely

and I had an amazing day

I have just joined Blairbeth golf club in glasgow - so looking forward to my first game there on friday

Thanks all for the welcome......

Golfwoman...A big welcome to you, you'll love the banter and advice and opinions(!)on here.If you're going to play Blairbeth then I hope the members have warned you about the jakkies who gather around I think is it the 10th?Played there years ago in a Sunday leaque match, and the 4 of us were asked 'any fags guys?to which Charlie(6ft plus)lit up a fag and said 'NAW!'They said a couple of naughty words but a snarl from Charlie meant we got some peace.Good course and nice clubhouse.Wish you well!!!

Hi GW and welcome to the golf addicts' favourite place (after the course, that is!)
Looks like you did pretty well for a first time out.
Enjoy your new club (and clubs!)
