Yep, cheapest HDMI cable from Maplin will do the job. Do not be suckered by the £50 gold covered rip off job that some spotty oik in Dixons will try and flog you.

Unless you're running it over a long distance any reasonable quality HDMI lead will do fine.

Anything over 5m is worth buying a decent one but, for a run up to that length, I wouldn't spend more than £10.

Just make sure it's to the HDMI 1.3 standard as well.

Some people buy into the "cables make a difference" brigade and others don't. I sit generally in the "make a difference" camp.

I've done a few tests on HDMI leads and on a 50" screen on a run of less than 5m, there was no discernable difference. Longer runs produced more artefacts on cheaper leads and improved performance on more expensive ones.

So, if you've got a 50" or larger screen and a longer run, it's worth spending a bit more.

The cheapest hdmi cable from Maplin is overpriced by a mile. £9.99 same as the Wilkos £2.99.

Other than that, I agree. Don't waste money.

I have 2. One cost me £2.99 and the other (gold) £6.99. No difference whatsoever.
